CHEAP Fiberglass Thirdgen Box for Sale

This is a box for all 82-92 camaro or firebird cars with or without power trunk. It is 3.5 cuft. The port is 6x6x9. It is painted blue and marblized with grey. Will work with good quality subs (NO WAL-MART). The box was used for high SPL and had 2-memphis mojo 12" subs with a 4000 watt memphis amp. They hit a max SPL of 157 DB but still sounds good with music. The sub cutout opening is 11 1/8" and the lip for the sub to sit in is 12 3/4" diameter. The sub was just sat in for the picture. Would like to get $500 for it but will consider a good offer. Shipping will probably be about $40. Let me know if you have any more questions or want more pictures. Either PM me or email me at de_ja_vu_2@hotmail.com.

Howabout $400 and I'll pay shipping to continental US? It's a very well built and painted box. It fits seamlessly in the trunk and would be a great addition to any nice system. I'm only selling it because I don't have my camaro anymore.

400 is alot for that box man... People won't spend that much on a box when they can spend like 75 on one... I hand it to you man, that box is real hot and I would love to take it off your hands, but the price is too steep. If you decide to go any lower let me know... You can reach me at Imthebriman1@yahoo.com. I would greatly appreciate it.

Go into a shop and see how much they charge you to build one like this one and then see how much more they charge you to have it painted and finished like this one...and then realize that $400 shipped is pretty cheap. You can't buy a box like this one for $75. You can take the weekend and build one, but it probably wont be the quality of this one, or as loud. I know $400 is seems like alot, but if you bought you stuff at wal-mart, then this box isnt for you. This box is for someone who has spend a couple thousand on their system and wants something worth more than $75. Not tryin to be rude, just lettin ya know, you probably couldnt even have a box that you built painted like this one for less than $300-$400. So when you decide that $400 shipped is a good price...You can reach me a de_ja_vu_2@hotmail.com. I would greatly appriciate it.

PS...$350 YOU pay shipping.

I wasn't trying to offend you... Just pointing out the fact that at $350 shipped, it is still not "cheap". Later.

I think that i would be willing to pay $275 - shipped. I like the look of it, but it would have to be painted to match my car - so the paint makes no difference to me. Let me know! What type of payment would you want?

Ya, Im hittin 140's with one 12 too...but you have to realize that after the 140's, its hard to get any higher. You have to have more and more power, especially if you're only running two 12's. and that Pro box stuff is ****...first off, they don't offer a dual 12" ported box, only a single. Second, if you can hit over 150 with a sealed box and two 12's, you put more than $400 extra into power and subs when you coulda just bought a ported box and saved all the extra...and I sold the box for $400 by the way...someone who knows what the hell a fiberglass box is worth.

not to keep this thread going forever....but building a fiberglass box costs a pretty penny in itself...not to mention how long it takes to do the finishing work on fiber. The price for this box is well worth it...its a nice custom shaped box...a simple fiberglass box for a cavalier or focus or something like that usually runs at least $200...and thats a basic box. Whats impressive about this box is the fact that it does hold 2 12" subs in a third gen...and has a reasonable amount of air space...try getting that with any wood box...not to mention the obvious workmanship thats gone into this...its not like a walk in the park...by far...

I dont know of KC trends...but I have done alot of work on my own boxes and checked with lots of independent shops before. I already have an MDF box for 2 15's...sealed..in a third gen...and that alone was 130. The average on MDF boxes for our cars...all sealed...is 175. Most shops I've check with either A. refuse to work with fiberglass in my car because of the time issue..and the fact my car would have to be there to get a good fit ...B. Want at least $500 to start with an unknown ceiling cost ...C. Can do it..but only with a prebuilt MDF box modified with a shaped fiberglass top...and a final cost of at least 600 for that... so from my own reasearch and experience...fiberglass box's are not cheap..and are extrememly rare...especially one with anything more than a single 10 sealed...yours is a dual 12...ported...and painted...thats sayin something...

Yep...I'm loving it so far...

A few notes...

I will probably coat the inside with a truck bed liner to make it flex even less and sound a lil bit louder (from less flex and better sound reflection)...ive done this with almost all the boxes ive made...and so far it seems to help out a bit...

The blue paint is still on there, but rather than strip it, I simply primered it and have begun painting it a metallic red...im on the third coat...plan on doing 5 then some clear...then some 2000 grit wet sanding

I added the word "firebird" made out of some nicely cut masking tape on top of the original paint, giving it a nice raised letter effect within the new paint....although I am considering peeling it off to see some blue shining through saying "firebird"

Later this week I will have in two cheap subs to test out the box and use for a winter system...I'll let you know how everything else works out, and ill show you the changes I made. Its a well built box..and is well worth the money...this should be my final box for my car...after using 4 others. Thanks.
