That show is awesome. They let you run open headers, and there is a huge burnout contest in the tunnel. Even the cops get involved. The car show is amazing and the sites and sounds last all weekend.
Since I live in the Worcester area I never miss this show. I just wanted to clarify a few things I read above. There are about 5000 cars at the show each year, not 400 so it is well worth the trip. The August dates you saw on the website were for the next show that is going on this year. The Summer Nationals are within a couple of days of the 4th of July each year. A second show is being added this year for 8/2/02-8/4/02 I think. This is the first year for the second show so it will most likely not be as big as the first but should be fun too.
The city is pretty lenient for the Summer Nationals though, open headers on almost every car there. Burnouts in the park on the burnout pad every afternoon and then again at night in the tunnel on Main Street in downtown Worcester. If you missed it this year you will want to try and get there next year. There were tons of people from all over New England, NY, NJ, and PA and then a few cars from the rest of the US (some from the West Coast!) Hope to see you at one of these shows soon!
