Hey, its good to here from you guys, i have a really hard time connecting with third gen lovers around here. If anyone is interested in the area, i work at a paint repair shop near the galleria, its MUCH cheaper than a repaint for us broke people that still want our cars to look nice, if anyone wants to know more let me know. also you can visit me at autozone at walden ntransit, which carries a limited supply of parts for our cars, they didnt have a replacement headlight motor and that ticked me off ( i wanted my discount on it!!)

 

I want to know more! The S/E looks like crap, the guy that had it before me never took care of the paint, so its all faded and in pretty rough shape all around. But I dont want to paint it cause i cant get a stripe kit for it. Not sure how good a paint repair job would work, but is it an option?

 

Well, paint repair is actually a very narrow option. it only works on vehicles that are not totally torn apart, although it can improve almost anything. what i do is match each touch up paint to each individual car, and carefully fill each chip and scratch. for dull cars, if there is enough clearcoat left on it, we can buff it to a shine. also, alot of scratches dont even need to be touched up, they can be removed! its quite an interesting process. with rust, and cracks and serious paint damage, a blend is necessary, but we dont blend above mid-door, because the risk of screwing up is high. lowers, especially bumper area is the easiest to blend. I would have to look at each vehicle individually to tell you what we could do, its hard to tell from description
I am thinking about purchasing a 1987 trans am t tops new 350 engine(6,000 miles on it) paint is great, no rust on top!!!!!!!!!!!! barely any rust underneath! shes a beauty, and i think im obsessed with her

 

Yeah, my paint isnt really scratched or anything. Just incredibly faded. Not sure if there is enough clear coat left to be able to get anything with buffing. Congrats on the T-A finding a rust free vehicle in WNY is damn near impossible.

My car "shines" at night ..well..my neon does anywho..but if its like a lil after dinner there's a lil time b4 dusk to see eachothers rides in the daytime....come on tho..more of you have to be up for a small meet on the 17th...

hey not sure if im a little late but i want to meet up, i just moved into orchard park not to long ago and got a 2 car garage for my 2 firebirds, n e one wanna meet up still, like someone said before go a check out each others rides?? i was supposed to meet up with a few guys before but becouse i was in a move and my cars whrer in a storage facility i couldnt really do much, n e way like i did before ill give my cell # so if im not toooo late we can meet up, though it is winter though i wont be taking my firebirds out n e where but we can always go check them out in the garage btw birdy nice car looks almost identical to my trans am only mine if factory bright yellow with the flat style spoiler and WS.6 wheels.....well not identical but same style body and gfx mine is a tpi 1st year with complete exahaust factory L98 cam and a 3.27 posi disc 9 bolt rear end, so if n e one wants to meet up here feel free to call, id say to e mail but i dont have my computer hooked up right now so im using my school computer so let me know whats guys.....
