Cool deal.

The impression I get, though, is that his thirdgen days might be numbered. Seems that Toyota truck is his new interest?

Re: NECF Club Members / bystanders Inside

I dont see him spending too much time on the truck, other then maintenance. I really have no idea though.

He did just complete the painting of a ram air hood for his firebird... It has bad brakes at the moment. I gave him a new master cyclinder but the problem remains... We will see.
We are also on the mini baja team.. That eats up a ton of time. I hope keith will be with us thirdgen folks a bit longer though! In fact, i'll ask him tomorrow.

Re: NECF Club Members / bystanders Inside

So I have to say it seemed like Thompson swap meet was a bust 8( I got there shortly before 8AM and it was already PACKED! In terms of parts we could actually use I saw a whole wapping 2 maybe 3 engine blocks and they were all 2 piece rear seals. I did see a good number of rear ends though, 9", 12 bolt, disc rear. I saw a LT1 complete top end for 100 bux. I himmed and hawwed about buying it for like 80, cleaning it up and trying to sell it for a profit but I had a moment of laziness and decided not to. By 10:30 it started to poor and with the chilly temperatures we decided to part ways with our 4 dollar Italian sausages and head back. I will say the place had expanded from last year. SO, 1 Italian sausage and a couple 25ft rolls of wire loom my day was complete. We'll see what goes on next year.

Re: NECF Club Members / bystanders Inside

I don't even enjoy going to the swapmeets. They are always packed up the yang, and I've never scored any awesome deals.

Besides, if I ever need just about ANY thirdgen parts, there's a guy down in CT who has it all. So much easier to go to his house than trudge through the crowds at the meets.

Re: NECF Club Members / bystanders Inside

sorry to hear thompson wasnt that great. sorry i couldnt go with you guys either! good news.. car is running much much better.. the timing was way off and now its really close. need to play with it a little and figure out what the afpr should be. then need to start learning how to tune it to get it running the way its supposed to =D. thinkin about taking the engine out over winter and cleaning it up a bit along with the engine bay if my dad will allow me to put it in his shed and help me with it. want to look into a cam too.

i would like to figure out what im going to have to do to get myself over the 300 hp mark.. so hopefully with the knowledge here ill get pointed in the right direction =D

edit again...
was looking around my engine.. and noticed that the intake base has the word accel written on it also.. so im guessing that is aftermarket? Here is a list of everything that i know of...

Engine
58mm holley throttle body, slp runners, holley adjustable afpr, accel intake base(not sure about the model #), k&n on the throttle body. Hedman headers 1 5/8ths with 3" catback flowmaster exhaust
Tranny
some sort of a shift kit no info on details and possibly a high rev torque converter? not sure
Suspension
New but stock 350 rear shocks/springs, front struts/springs.
Ws6 front and rear sway bars

Re: NECF Club Members / bystanders Inside

Hey, I'm over in that new forum of ours all by myself, holding it down.

Since we have a new space, we should get in there and post, post, post. That's the only way it will take off, if people just get in there and start posting about anything thirdgen related...pics of your cars, chronicles of your project progress etc.

Bull, thanks for the heads up and reminder.

ALL, I'm going to go post over in the spot our member Jay setup for us. I'll now monitor both sites (TGO and Jay's temp site) to communicate. IF there is something you want to communicate to all of us quickly please use either the temp NECF site or an email.

Hey, do any of you guys have an Edelbrock Performer lying around you'd be willing to part with? I finally found my vacuum leak, it turns out the previous ownder helicoiled the carb stud threads and drilled deeper then he should have and went into the intake runner.

A buddy of mine was a Thompson swap meet and found one for $30, but didn't pick it up cause he couldn't get ahld of me and didn't know if I wanted it. Damn!

Well, I don't have a Performer, but I do have a Holley Street Dominator. It has very few miles on it, I just took it off when I switched to EFI. It's this intake: http://www.holley.com/300-36.asp

Not sure if it might fill the bill for you, but figured I'd throw it out there!

Re: NECF Club Members / bystanders Inside

I have a used performer rpm sitting in the basement I'd sell you, I also have a victor jr cnc that has been coated by airborne with a holley hp 830 annular sittn around too, zero miles.

I also have a set of A arms with new ball joints and urathane bushings pressed in them that is taken up space I would like to get rid of.

Sold most of my race junk in the spring on ebay, aluminum heads, supercharger, ect, ect, but still have more some stuff to list, 3rdgen edelbrock 3" exhaust, coated edelbrock headers, couple of 400 blocks std bore, aluminum pullies, couple of hei distributors, new MSD distributor, blk moroso aluminum valve covers and breathers, carb spacers, Flexalite electric fans, Griffin aluminum radiator that needs to be repaired. my email is wheaton.bradley@gmail.com

Re: NECF Club Members / bystanders Inside

yes I am in Glastonbury. It is damaged, the top row has a cut in it. It is the widest griffen that will fit between the stock frame rails. It's also the upgraded version with the xtra wide rows. If you could some how seal the leak it will work fine. I'd trade it for a bottle of single malt,

Re: NECF Club Members / bystanders Inside

Like AC said if anyone has issues with signing up feel free to send me an email and I can help.

Just as a note - We had some issues with spam bots signing up so I had to add security measure when creating an account. be sure to answer the security question "what make is the Firebird" correct answer is : Pontiac
Also, be sure and check your email spam filters, it's possible that the confirmation email gets labeled as junk mail.

Additionally it seems the confirmation email is taking some time for delivery. I'm not sure what the delay is, and am looking into it. So it may take several hours before it arrives at the moment unfortunately.
