Ohio - Is this a good price for this '92 RS Camaro? (Buying help needed)
Hello, I wanted to know if this is a good deal for this car or not. It is a 1992 Camaro RS 25th anniversary edition with white paint and red stripes with red cloth interior. It has the basic 305 V8 with an automatic transmission. Power windows/locks. The car has 26,000 miles and is all original with all of the paperwork and window sticker.
The owner wants $9,000 cash for it. I found a picture of the same car on google: I appreciate any help and buying advice offered! This would also be my first car ever as well if I buy it. I hope I posted this in the right section, if not I'm sorry.

It seems a tad high to me, I love the '92 RS, my dream RS is a '92 fully loaded 5.0 V8 auto but in dark blue with t-tops and a Black Hardtop, but hey maybe you can get him to go down to 8 or 7grand, its a good first car, all original you don't see many like that anymore they get modified too easily. It's a nice example of a '92. It has 170hp and 255lbs torque, you should get a Carfax report before you make any commitments though. Gotta be sure its never been wrecked before.

I think that 9,000 may be a bit expensive but it is very clean, and the low mileage helps.
if you have your heart set on it you can buy it. i'm sure it'd be a great car.

Someday I hope to put an LS1 in it and keep all of the original stuff.

Make sure to take a fine tooth comb inside and under the car make sure there's no rust building up around the exhaust or floor panels.

The car looks extremely nice! The question is: Is this "your" car? If so, buy it and enjoy!
Personally, I would only buy an Z-28 or IRCOC-Z. There are some really nice ones out there at that price range. It may be hard to find one with the same color combo though...

Re: Ohio - Is this a good price for this '92 RS Camaro? (Buying help needed)
Even with those low miles, The price is very high for a RS with that engine. I have a friend who just sold a mint condition 85 IROC with a TPI for $10K, and it only has 27K miles.
I wouldn't think about that car for more than $6-7K, and even then you're probably going to kick yourself later for spending that much and not getting an IROC or a Z28. They hold value better and have far better collectors value.
That may not be what you are concerned with, but don't PAY for collectors value when there isn't any there.
