Ohio?
Re: Ohio?
Hey guys. Im from N.Canton also. I have a 90 TA that Im now looking to sell so that I can buy a new house. I have to options for it if anyone is interested. The First:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/fire...-ls2-swap.html
The Second is I could drop another 6 liter I have with 60,000 miles on it and let it go for around $10,000. This is a very nice car and well worth the money.
I have tons of pics of the car and motor built from scratch and the install along with every receipt for every part on the car. Almost every part was bought brand new.
Hey munson, how have you been? Good to see your still around. I was wondering if you got the car going yet.

I wonder how many of you other Columbus boys have seen the white and red z/28/ iroc vert with the huge rims running around town.
I've been trying to snap a pic of it for ages, its different for a thirdgen.

Re: Ohio?
Hoping to send my camaro out to a shop called Franks Coach & Carriage on brookpark in parma ohio. Let me know about these guys if you can, thanks everyone.
Anyway if I do indeed get my camaro out this year (lets keep our fingers crossed) I'd like to set up a meet. Somewhere between Cleveland and Columbus to ensure most of you can make it out. Mainly just a place to finally meet all or most of you, trade mechanic numbers, techniques and tips & tricks. I'd like to make it an annual meet so there will be something for all of us to look forward to every summer. Strictly TGO Ohio Members.
Take care and will be back in later months hopefully with the update that my Camaro is running, just want to get it into everyone's head that we should start an annual TGO Ohio Meet. Oh and place doesn't matter, I just see most of us live between Columbus and Cleveland, but I do also see some Cincinnati livers as well.

You and me both brotha, except the West side part. Can't wait for April. Since we know Cleveland weather is always late. But then again maybe March will warm up enough for me to be able to use my propane heater to warm the garage a bit more. in due time
Your not to far away from me (about 20min), might be able to cruise on by and check out the car once I get mine going.
Just wanted to say I do plan to get a meet for us this summer, so once my car is ready for the road I'm going to leave a post about when and where, I'm not going to build up to it or anything, it will be spontaneous.
Anyway good luck to all Ohioans.

Mentor Ohio. From Madison, but moved to Mentor not long ago. Lake Erie is my back yard. To anybody in N.E. Ohio, Take your ride to Franks Auto Body And Restoration. Hes been in several magazines for Complete Hot Rod Restorations, all the way down to fender bender repair. On Rt. 20 in Madison, just East of Bennett Rd. Look him up on the Net for more info. Nice to meet you guys. Hope my car gets done soon so we can all meet up
http://www.franksautobody.net/home.nxg. Ask for the owner Frank Latin. Tell him Jeromey Cummins sent you. You wont believe the talent that this guy has.

Re: Ohio?
Need floorpans removed and installed. Does he have a quote for me? Car will come with gutted interior but with undercarriage parts still installed minus exhaust. Trying to get a ball park as to how much I'm looking at spending on getting my rust taken care of. Thanks.
Re: Ohio?
Re: Ohio?
Heres some pics. The quality of the work is outstanding. Notice he even took his time re-caulking and ran nice streight lines. These are ones of the compartment after i got the car home and scuffed up the seal that he had sprayed. I ended up spraying it with Satin. MMMMMMMM......... Satin!
Re: Ohio?
Oh.... forgot to add that, in that price that he charged me, there was some rust repaire done as well. The right way too. It was cut out, and new metal was welded in, and ground down. It was just in a couple of places here and there throughout the compartment. Cant wait to get the undercarriage, and wheel wells done. Woo-hoo!

Re: Ohio?
Work looks great. I don't believe Ill be tearing down an engine bay yet but...will definitely give him a call. Also now that I got a friend to tow my car, that will help even more. Thanks for posting some work done by him on our cars, also nice to see another silver camaro
Just isn't good that floorpans rose $300 since 1 year ago when I was going to buy them shipped for $470, now they're $700+ shipped. Darn inflation is killing me on these sheetmetal parts. I have a lot to talk about with getting my work done. Thanks again.

Re: Ohio?
Sorry, i dont have any pics of the floor pan yet. I was going to wait until i got the undercarriage done, and my frame ties, and cage was in. It looks about as nice as the engine compartment. Cant even tell its not a stock floor, except for the knock-out holes arent there.
Re: Ohio?
Oh, and the color is Pewter. It does look silver in the pics though. I fell in love with the 02 pewter camaro SS, so i got the paint code off one, and got it done. Going to change the color though.

Re: Ohio?
Yeah, I'd like to go a shade or two darker than where I am at now. Then would like my whole front end to be satin silver, then fender to where the door meets the quarter in full silver and I'd like it to start a fade into gloss black on the quarter, but also tie that gloss black into the front satin silver portion of the car, as well as some of the satin in the gloss black towards the rear, it's going to be an all out crazy paint job mixing super gloss (A few coats of clear) black with a gloss silver (less clear coats than black) and a satin silver up front, maybe a semi gloss silver.
Anyway if you can, please get some before and after of the floorpan work. Thanks, appreciate it. I'll call him tomorrow. Need to talk about the pans, mini tubbing, 10pt roll cage and custom interior sheetmetal work (I'd like my rear to be full sheetmetal, cleared, to give a hardcore race car look, but keeping my front carpeted for a bit of comfort, even though it wont matter with the 71* angled bucket seat haha. Uh oh getting carried away with my ideas. NO MORE!
P.S. If I can find a Jeep for this coming 10-11 winter, I'll gut my car this year and get all of this worked on, so I can go about my business without worries of rust.

Edit: Confused myself, and realized, a 10x10 wont work with our long cars.
Here is the same 10x20 for $100 less than the previously posted one.

I know Gellner Engineering does crazy marine motor work but could also help you on your street motor. They coated my headers and y-pipe inside and out with a 1700* coating for the same price as Jet-Hots regular ceramic coating, and didn't have to ship them.
Autobody, I'd check out a place called http://www.franksautobody.net/home.nxg posted by Jeromy Cummins. Frank is more than willing to do anything for you. Has a guy for roll cages too if needed.
I'm still researching places, in which I need to visit Frank but working 9-5 through the week makes it hard.
