How's it goin. Very nice ride! Where exactly is Dansville? Sounds familiar?! Anyway, I don't have that many mods...yet. I do however have a brand new Edelbrock 650 CFM carb, Edelbrock polished intake, Accel 8.5 MM wires.
On the wish list: exhaust, B&M Shifter, Crane Cam w/lifters. And if I can convince my wife, a 350 instead of the 305 that is in there now. Later!

I'm 'upstate' in the mid-hudson valley. Was in Binghamton / Endicott area a couple years ago for some work related to my job (IBM).

I was just going to binghamton university this past semester... the university and I had a difference of academic opinions... so I'm back in Ithaca chillin. I didn't notice many camaros or firebirds while I cruised "the strip" mostly imports and mustangs. Anyway, welcome to the board, maybe I'll see you around on one of my trips down that way.
BU eh!!?? Cool ride by the way. I work at AIG in the plaza near BU. Yes, unfortunately there are ALOT of imports and mustangs (newer ones-2000 up). If your down this way again on a Saturday in the spring or summer, go to the Home Depot. That is where all the "muscle" hangs out. I have the red Camaro with the Superman designs on the car. See ya round

AIG eh? That's my insurance company... I've had to go there a couple times to get insurance cards... I'll have to come down there some time... bring my friend along with the '85 Mustang GT... and my car and have ourselves a Domestic/V8 fest...
Sounds cool! I normally work third shift, 11pm-7am, except Saturdays when I work 3pm-11pm. I work the front desk-security. I'll have to make sure I have my Camaro with me. You will some of the "other cars" here
Anyway just drop me an email before you head down so I can make sure I have my Camaro in the lot.

As far as 'upstate' goes, anything north of Westchester is upstate, right??

When is the Syracuse Nationals? Let me know so I can make arrangements to get there! As far as I know, you're right about anything being north of Weschester. That's what I have been told by people from "The City"!???

The nationals are usually around the 20th of July. I started seeing billboards for it around May I think. Great time on the Blvd. Much more exciting then walking around the fairgrounds all day long IMHO. I'll do it again, but still, there isn't a dyno, drag racing, or anything. Just a bunch of nice, parked cars for you to drool over. It would be more exciting to see a dyno shootout IMHO.

I'm just getting back into the racing/performance scene, and this site has really helped me "catch up".

I'm just up the road from you. Live in Guilford?!, work in Norwich. I usually hit Walmart on tuesday nights when they do the cruise-in.
This is my first post here, usually hit the PROM and TPI boards heavy. Thought I would see what the local boys are up to.
Cheers!

Norwich. I think they start up in early June every tuesday. I will be at the Norwich car show coming up Memorial weekend. Muscle cars on sat, antiquers on sunday. It's a big one!!
Depends. The store is a department store of sorts. Their auto section is really no different then say a KMart or Target, just bigger. They really don't have anything for "performance" but they do carry cleaning stuff, tools, etc. Wal-Mart is mentioned here because we "upstaters" use it a "landmark".

HOWDY! - Im currently in So. Calif., but we are moving BACK to Binghamton around the end of April. One of the many reasons is because its HOME, and its too f*ckin crowded out here.
Anyway, i JUST got into LEGAL drag racing over the last 2 yrs [im 38]. I'd bought an '84 2.8L Camaro Berlinetta with a bent rearend for 900$. A couple years later and a FEW thousand dollars, coutless hours in my buddy's garage and a few trips to the local drag strips and i got a bad-*** Chevy. I took the V6 to the strip and ran a 19.46 @ 70 mph, after swapping the V6 for a 377ci, my last trip gave me a [ 1/8th mile] 8.25 @ 89mph [Irwindale track], at Fontana's 1/4 mi. i got a 12.83 @ 108.
This has all been on stock V6 suspension, 2.73 rearend gears, and 50$ General radial tires. Over this last weekend i've FINALLY installed sub-frame connectors, driveshaft loop and adjustable torque-arm [S&W], also was using a buddies carb off his 396ci motor, got mine installed now, 810 cfm Holley from The Carb Shop. Will be going back to Irwindale tomorrow night, hope to get in the 7's! Also got my Lakewood trailing arms and Hotchkis Panhard bar from the UPS man this week, but havent put those on yet.
Lots of pics and info on my site - check it out!

Very Nice ride. The First Gens are my first choice, but they are very hard to find around here (decent ones anyway). Let me know when get back here. I would love to see your car. The main "hangout" is the Home Depot in Johnson City. People meet there on Saturdays. Just thought I would throw that out to ya!
I will be making the trip down from Oswego to Binghamton on saturday to race at northgate racing.Any body that wants to hook up for a beer or two just let me know.I will be in the area from about 930 am untill ?...
Hey guys,
New to this board. Noticed that all of you are from around CNY.
A few of us Firebird/TA guys are putting together an all Firebird and Trans Am gathering in the Syracuse area for this summer. Any Firebird or Trans Am will be welcomed. All years, all trim levels. If it's a Pontiac F-body, we'd like to see you here.
The date is June 8th. The location is Hofmann's Hot Haus in North Syracuse, NY in the Northern Lights plaza. The time is 3PM to 6PM. Restaurant management will rope off the parking lot for us.
You can get more info on our website: www.cnyfirebird.com
And if you really want to attend, please register. It's free and easy.
Or feel free to e-mail me (Mark) at HuJass@msn.com
Thanks.
