Told Ya so

Terrel and I are right. the Camaro is coming back bishes!

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=106732

DETROIT — Chevrolet plans to take the wraps off a concept Camaro at the 2006 Detroit auto show in January.

Also, Inside Line has learned the automaker is evaluating proposals to revive the classic performance-car nameplate in 2009-2010 on a new low-cost rear-wheel-drive platform.

Among the scenarios under discussion inside General Motors is the development of a lower-cost version of the Sigma rear-drive platform that underpins the Cadillac CTS and STS sedans. Another proposal would take the new rear-drive platform that's being developed in Australia for the next-generation Holden Commodore sedan and spin off a low-cost variant for North America.

GM planners are said to have targeted several body styles for the Chevy and Pontiac brands on a new rear-drive platform, including a sport sedan, a sporty coupe and a convertible. The Camaro and GTO badges could be used on those vehicles, according to company sources.

Across town, Chrysler is said to be preparing a concept Dodge Challenger for the '06 Detroit show, to test the market for a proposed two-door performance car it wants to introduce around 2008-2009 as a potential competitor to the Ford Mustang.

What this means to you: Guess it was just a matter of time and environmental awareness — the original definition of muscle cars doesn't fit well with new perceptions of what's best for the world...could there be a "green" muscle car in our future?

hahahaha! my credit should be good enough to get a car by then

the date always seem to get pushed back. I remember when the CTS was about to come out I read an artical about GM would be using the sigma for the NEXT GTO and the NEXT CAMARO but they needed to modify the fire wall for a lower look and they was trying to fit a live axle in the back(camaro only)

the other RWD platform that was cancelled was for a bigger RWD car (chevy SS). a couple months ago in GMHTP they said GM was planning to bring the Holden UTE over in 2-3 years, but it would have different levels of performance(v6, low performance v8, LS2 in the SS model). oh and the UTE is ozzie's El camino

I'd sure like to see it back, but I am continually losing faith in GM, they need to get their **** together!

I guess the 2006 Detroit show will tell us for sure.

Vin needs solid GM official proof.

Tell it!

I've been looking hard at Dodge lately. If GM screws up the Camaro, I'll be on the market for a Hemi.

Nice job Travis. The other night my brother was telling me about that exact article and I was going to bring it up as well. Can't wait to see the concept, and of course I hope they actually make something again. I still love my thirdgen though and will always stick with it no matter what. There is nothing like old school 350 muscle, love the sound.

not getting rid of them but the will be limiting the number of models they have. I think GMC/pontiac/buick will have like 3-5 models each cadillac/chevy will have the most models like 7-11(caddy on the lower end, chevy with the most). they want be doing anything different to saturn/saab/hummer. GM wants to have the dealerships that sale mostly one of the 3(GMC/pontiac/buick) to sale all 3 makes, which would be best for those dealerships

oh!! this isn't off the top of my head I read this on some site online

gmc should stick to trucks, pontiac should make midclass cars and buick can have the 4 door old folks piles..

caddy sticks with luxury cool cars and saturn saab hummer should be forgotten about..

and chevy should stick to performance camaros cobalts vettes etc..

:idisagree:

He would be all cool and then some girl who works there would walk by (just like the girl pushing carts) and he would get all red and be like, "So, uh, are you like working hard?"

That's hella funny, sorry Travis, but it's all so true. Plus the news would report an increase in 15 year olds being hired at GM, lol.
