Maybe we should still have bennie stab my wires and see what's going on with the ignition.

Too bad, those 8.8 Accell wires are bank!
yea im using terrells maf its a reman one from kragens works good. in my car hes obviously not gonna need i for ever

i think we need to change your wires out the repair you did on that wire isnt sufficient. i have the tool to cut it shorter and re crimp it. we can change them around. or i have some wires you can use brand new i used as a temporary taylor custom fit wires, with msd ends and boots lol.

also did you ever check compression on cyl #8 . maybe we should running compression as well. or another no bad idea is to see if the cam timing is correct and not retared or advanced. or if the chain stretched or what have you. also now that we changed some bad parts around we could try my dizzy too just to throw it out there.

Was this a flood damaged car? Lots of electrical problems. Just pick up a harness, all sensors and a reman ecm, get frustrated, throw some tools around, and do a counter clockwise rain dance around it while someone puts it all in and it may work. Before you lagh realize this is the LAST option you have at this point!

It's on then for Sunday Eric-

Let's get this pile figured out. We know we don't have to pull the intake parts anymore.

I am leaning towards a ignition issue.

Bring your dizzy/wires and a maf buuuudddy!

I might just have to make a guest appearance this weekend then, provided I don't break another torque arm mount doing a burnout

Yeah Mike, just because a guy has the equipment to burn a chip, doesn't mean he can just make 1 for anybody.
You need to have your own equipment first (e.g, adapter or memcal or whatever your model needs) in order to send the modified file into your ECM.
I know Alex's TBI required him to actually solder the PROMinator to the ECM as opposed to just plugging it into a memcal like the TPI guys.
Not sure what the TBI needs if you go the chip route.

The guy I know burns chips for almost any GM V8 cars. He did my chip for my car and that thing is done from the ground up. A he has a 87 vette with a 434 stroker in it. We also have a few friends that tpi's and he burns all of are chips. We run stock computer's and wiring in are cars, not DFI. We have converted over to ford 90mm mas air flow sensors. Now we are tuning the cars. For what we know we are the first people around here to do it.

We take a calculated maf table and plug that in to the comp. and tune from there.

IMHO I wouldn't expect the thing to idle smooth as butter with that cam in there anyways. Even with a new chip blah blah blah

Mine lopes / surges / whatever. Still runs like a champ.

In fact I heard your car when it was at the shop, sounded REAL healthy.

I'm chipped!!!!!

She purrs like a kitten at idle and really opens up on the top end.

I saw the different tables and graphs that represent timing/maf/fuel.

I'm no expert on chip stuff. this is what I witnessed:

dude used C.A.T.S

Had one laptop datalogging. One laptop fed directly into where my memcal would go...that's right, a ribbon cable from laptop to where the chip should be. Dude was making changes on the fly.

We had about 5-7 hard passes up and down Sierra College blvd.
Two laptops in the car. After each run, dude would inspect rich/lein grapg vs. maf tables vs. fuel tables. Changes were made everywhere.

It was determined that I ran out of fuel pump on the top end.

I'm swapping to wally 255 in tank, then Dude will re-chip.

It was absolutely sheer expertise to watch this guy do his thing.
He had appointements while I was there...saw a new cts with a t56 and big *** motor get re-calibrated.

My car idles smooth at 900-950 rpm.

Was also told my 24# injectors are at there limit.

Who has a SR and heads for me?
