Switched filters, noticed a difference

I got bored tonight so I took my wifes cone filter off of her 4runner and pulled the box out of mine and stuck the cone on. I took it for a spin and now it's chirping 2nd gear and pulling harder. I think the k&n that was in mine is dirty and that box isn't the best flow. I think I'll run like this for awhile. It even has a cool wistle to it.

Chirping 2nd always puts a smile on my face! Cool you got a few extra ponies out of the 'bird steve, maybe there are a few other cheap tricks you can do before you head to the track again..

Isn't your wife going to be unhappy that you're taking parts off her truck? Ah the days of just chirping 2nd gear, now the damn thing just wants to go sideways.

If im on it WOT on the street it'll spin them a few times and go a little sideways.. for some reason up onramps it really goes sideways. it's weird, must be the incline of the road (or maybe the general shittyness of bay area onramps combined with kumhos). The first few times I shifted second up the onramp over here it felt like the clutch was slipping, then after someone drove behind me and told me the car was sliding and the tires smoking I figured out what was happening

chirping second is fun

Yeah it feels like it picked up a few ponies. I have to check the old filter, it must have been clogged bad. I know it has more flow than with the box in there. It climbed up the hill by my house with no problems at all. Usually I have to get a little more into it. This time it just cruised up with minimal throttle. I also had to do a couple of nice long burnouts .

I have been thinking of the setup I want as I decided not to spend everything on it. It will get an Eagle steel crank, Some Eagle H beam rods, Forged pistons (not sure which brand),not sure on cam either, Vortec heads, stealthram. I want to add a supercharger too but not sure when I'll get it.
I'll be puting it all together piece by piece as to not break the bank. I just want to hang with the bigger boys on the street, I don't need single digit times, high 12's,low 13's will be fine. I'll have it dyno tuned too.

if you're seriouslly going to get a super charger get lower compression pistons, street car id say keep it at 9:1 so you dont lose "THAT" much power until you buy it. Just remember, lower compression high boost makes more power than higher compression low boost. If the super charger is more of a dream than a reality (like in my case) get some decent compression and don't sell yourself short. Good luck

I plan on keeping the compression pretty low, but not too low as I don't have a time on when I'll buy the s/c. I'm just going to look out for a good deal on a used one most likely. I want it streetable before hand though.

um I have worked on my car. And I'm sure his car could be faster than me, but it just isn't yet that's all. You're always so bitter, just get over it.

If you werent so self conscious about your glorified ls1 that is better then thirdgens, You would realize or maybe even think for a moment that I was not even targeting your car. What I ment by crowd was my little posse of cars. My fourth gen. Maybe even Steves reply that mentioned Tahoe would have been a clue. Seems your the only person that thought I was targeting you. But hey, Your not the only fellow around here with a 4thgen. Imagine that.

Man, you kindergarteners never give it a rest.
I don't see any of ya well into the 12's, just a bunch of traction lacking fools.
Talkin' 'bout chirpin tires and going sideways.
Get some real rubber and you won't experience this as much.
