Re: turbo
not possible. no one makes a smog legal turbo, so even if its clean out the pipe and you have all the emissions fuctioning properly you would fail visual. you could try and find someone who would pass it but their hard to find and expensive.

Re: turbo
They have a CARB# for the '04 GTO only. It doesnt cross over to any other vehicle, including thirdgens.
The only way to get a turbo setup on a thirdgen is to live is an area that doesnt do visual smog checks (the boonies of CA).
This map will tell you where you need to move:

Re: turbo
It's possible and it can be done legally. And I mean smog legal. And to top it off, it's going to be a TWIN TURBO L98. Okay, what conversion would that be? It will still need to get the BAR label when done. It will be legit. Anyone knows the conversion? I know!.. I'll let you guys think about it.

Re: turbo
THAT'S IT! Convert it to Callaway Corvette Spec then go get it certified at the referee then you're set.
Re: turbo
I love the idea of using a turbo and a small c.i tpi v8, its a nice way to seperate yourself from the rest of the crowd and I'm sure can make great numbers. It's a shame it can't be done easily and more legally.
What size turbocharger is typical for 305 tpi's ?

Re: turbo
They are suppose to check the CARB EO# to see if it's approved for the year and model. Right now, if you want turbos, you need to transplant a Callaway SledgeHammer set-up. That's the only way to get it legally until an aftermarket is available that is CARB approved of course. Why not go with a Vortech SC? I know they may not be as efficient as turbos but hey are CARB approved.
