The getting to know me thread!
Per Outatime's advice, here is a little about me.
My name is Will. I'm 24 years old, and live in San Francisco. I am a BMW mechanic and worked at the dealer for 5 years before moving to an independent BMW maintenance and development shop at the beginning of the year.
I've owned two thirdgens in the last 6 years, my first car was an 86 Z28 T-Top LG4 A4 car, and my 89 IROC-Z, originally L98 A4 car. The IROC has been down for about two years now since I did some body work and painted it. Since then I have been working a lot on freshing up the front suspension with new steering components, hotchkis springs, c4 12" DP brakes up front and stock 11.7" brakes out back. The 350 motor that was in the car when I bought it is coming out in favor of my new ZZ3 forged motor with CCXFI268HR13 cam and AFR 180 CNC heads. The TPI has been ported to match very closely the original Accel/Lingenfelter base, and all modifications were done by LPE. 24 lb injectors will round out the motor. Looking to have the motor in for test runs later this year, hoping to have the car reassembled and on the ground ready to roll sometime late winter or early spring. All the info you might be interested in can be found on my cardomain listed in the sig.
In addition to the IROC, I also own a 2001 Chevy Xtreme p/u. I bought her in 2005 for my daily driver so I could retire the iroc for a while and do the mods I wanted to do. She's all stock save for an Injen CAI and the bmw xenon lights I installed in the stock housings. Pics on Cardomain as well.
Anyway, it would be cool to hang out with some fellow thirdgen owners for a change. I have been a part of several clubs, and was the only 3rd gen for the most part. mostly 4th gens and vettes, so it would be nice to keep the flame burning and see who's doing what to their cars. I'm sure we'll get a meet or something going one of these days. I'd really like to get the iroc out there, but I don't see the car being driveable for at least another 3-6 months. But hey, that's a hell of a lot sooner than when I started.

Good to re-meet you Will. I know you've been around awhile and I'm sure we've chatted in the past.
I recently bought a 4th gen for a DD, but I'd much rather hang out here with these 3rd gen fans anyday.
Look fwd to having a gtg soon and seeing your work in progress.

Welcome to the forum from the Central Coast of CA. Good to see another 3rd gen enthusiast. My L98 is tired as well. I plan on retiring the IROC as soon as my '54 Chevy truck is completed. I look forward to meeting up with you some time. Daniel U

My gf is from AG, nice to see some central cal thirdgens represented.
I think most people's L98's are gettin a little tired by now lol, as soon as I get some roller rockers, i'll be able to bring the motor home and throw it in.

Re: The getting to know me thread!
She's about 45 min. south of me. My L98 burns/leaks 1-2 quarts between changes. The IROC looks ok from the outside, rides nice, but lacks BHP. See vBgarage for my dreams, mods, etc. PM me if you're gonna be in the area with your IROC. It'd be cool if we could hook up for lunch or just check out our rides. Later, Daniel U

Re: The getting to know me thread!
I've been here, lurking for the past couple years. It's no fun going to meets and stuff when the car is inop. So I've just been working and putting parts together to finish the car. Body actually needs more attention than the drivetrain/powertrain I think. Just need a few more things and I can at least take it off the stands.

I get it at cost... so you decide if that's a hook up or not

Looking real good. A little envious over here... the little things that need to be done on my car are getting away from me. Looks like you are on top of yours.

Thanks man. It's been a while, but she's starting to come together slowly.
