Wiring the iroc.

If I could get this car wired up fast enough, I can literally start it now. Procharger has not come in the mail yet, but the car should be able to start without it. Just need to run the battery cables and run some wire to the interior for power and ignition. Just need to figure out how lol...

Re: Wiring the iroc.

Any chance we could see a few pics (side view, rear view) if your rear wheel/tires? I just read them in your sig. How big of a foot print do you intend to leave? Did I ask if you planned on mini-tubbing? I'm always interested in this as my car doesn't "hook up" until 1/2 way into 2nd gear @ WOT. My tired 5.7 has 225,000 on it. I know there's more to do to the rear suspension, but in the long run, if I can squeeze 350-400rwhp out of the TPI, I'd like a wider rear. My tire guy tells me I'll have to go to a 17" wheel to do so. I think the 255/50/R16 is the widest tire for our OEM wheels.

Now Travis,
I sure hope to God(s) (him/her/them) that you've already set your PROM to the CORRECT emissions tune BEFORE you turn that damn ignition key.

EVERYONE! IF IT SUDDENLY STARTS TO SNOW OR CALIFORNIA TURNS INSTANTLY INTO ANOTHER SAHARA DESERT--- IT MEANS IT WAS TRAVIS' FAULT!!!!
(smart ash me, Nitro)

(p.s. DON'T take a picture of your car with the licence plate showing, someone, maybe a Dr. Doom, might turn you in to the authorities...){you nasty, bad-boy shade-tree mechanic, you!}

I can get a few pics snapped, cell phone quality, as usual. 315's have a 12.5" contact patch on the pavement. about 50% better then a 245 with its 8" or so.. No, I don't think I will be mini-tubbing, After the car is running, I will take steps to get them to tuck better, with some trimming of the inner fender, and if the spohn LCA prototype works out well, I will definitely be purchasing those. (The LCA is notched so the tire can tuck about another inch, if you were wondering. A member here had them made and we are seeing the durabilty on them)
You are right the 255 is the widest you can go on a stock wheel safely. You can always get your wheels widened if you are really set on keeping the stockers!

At least on my car, the restriction to running more backspacing/wider tires is the wheelwell itself, not the LCA. Although the tire is very close to the LCA on my 10.5" rear wheels I guess. Are these guys using the offset LCA in addition to a minitub to get more clearance?

I may get the 17" stock looking wheels and widen them if need be. Not sure yet. I can't wait to see what 315's look like from behind
I'll have to wait until April. I may like the look of your 315's so much, it will make me want to just get a light wieght set of 17's. Any pics of the wheels or a link?
