NEED HEI distributor....
I am in need of a non computerized dizzy; one of the old style HEI units with the coil in the cap. I'm looking for one that been upgraded for a hotter spark and such. Thanks. Nitro-Nicky

Re: NEED HEI distributor....
You can pick up some cheap chinese ones with a 60,000 volt coil for relatively cheap these days. 60.00 or so brand new. I got one for a friends car at a turlock swap meet from Finish Line Performance 909-721-7072 is the # I have for them. Im sure they'll ship if needed...Dont know exactly where they are from.

Re: NEED HEI distributor....
Thanks for the suggestion; it's a good one. Unfortunately I just don't trust those type of parts. We usually have a handful of dizzy's come through the general engine parts 'For Sale' message board, but I thought I'd check with our local group first. I got my last 2 distributors delivered to me while I was out drag racing at Infinion Raceway. That was really convienent and a fun way to talk shop and see a couple great cars!
By the way; how do you like your Vigilante torque converter? Worth every penny you spent?

Re: NEED HEI distributor....
yes it was worth it. I bought it secondhand but it was still new. I only paid 350 for it. And after I sold the 4l60e shiftkit he threw in with it, it only cost me 315 haha. I did that and drag radials, picked up .2 in my 60' and .4 in the 1/4 mile. That was worth it. It'd be worth it if I paid the 800 for it new too. I deffinately suggest getting one if you can. Ramair21 has one in his car too and loves it. But he doesnt have any before/after times for it.

Re: NEED HEI distributor....
Thanks there for the thorough reply. When I had my 700r built to stage 3 standards, the builders snuck in a sub par torque converter thinking I wouldn't notice, but I called the manufacturer for all the specs on it and found out I'd be lucky if it held up to 300 pounds of tq. I just bought a Paxton system which should put me up over the 500 hp level and I'll have to do a couple Dyno tests to find out what type of torque I'm actually pulling. So I definitely want to put something sweet between my shifting legs (so to speak) before I drop the new engine in and pull that marginal TQ out of there while the access is easy.
Again, thanks for taking time out for a reply! Nitro-Nicky

I've got a brand new ZZZ vacuum advance distributor, not sure if it's what you're looking for, but it would take the large cap. Let me know
