Maaco can do a good job shooting it. It's the prep that you've got to watch. They'll only do exactly what you say you want done ("Get rid of all the rust" isn't good enough - you need to specify each spot), and then nickle-&-dime you for it.

But, if you take in a prep'd car, they can make the top coat look good.

FWIW, they did mine https://www.thirdgen.org/rides/index...ew&rideid=3300 .

I did rust spots and stripped the hood. They did a good deal more that I didn't want to tackle.

I've seen good jobs come from Maaco, but they are few and far between. Basically, if you go in and expect their prep to be good enough when you only pay $400, you are going to be disappointed. They can turn out great work, but you will pay for it. I know a guy who had his car done at Maaco, and it cost him $2500. I looks awesome after 5 years, but my Mom had a Granada painted there (same shop) and the paint fell off in a year.

Maaco did mine, and I havent had a problem with it. They use enamel paint, so you really have to take car of it no orange peel and I have very few flaws.
