Any of you guys going to make it there this year? I'll be flying from Texas to run the firebird in bracket class.

I'll definately be there with the '57. Not sure yet if the Camaro will be run, but I'll most likely drive it out there so I can leave the '57 at the track overnight.

I will be there for sure! I am going to show again and see what this year has to hold for me. I am pretty sure that Nortz89 will be showing as well this year, so make sure if any of you guys are there you look us up and hang out. I plan on going for both days of the show, but will see what happens when the time comes.

Later,
Brandon.

Is this a show, or a race type thing???
If its a show I am there. If its a race, I guess I can be there. Maybe we can see what 305 TPI can do!
I'll make sure I get a day off so we can hang out as a club.

Any chance of having the show designate area for a club???

Sorry for this dumb question, but i've never been to a show before?

Yes, and yes.

You can do either, or both. Jackpot races on Saturday, "class" racing on Sunday (all bracket racing).

The show takes place in the pits directly behind the grandstands. Vendors south of the concession stand. The race takes place everywhere else.

Super Chevy Show

(BTW, it's the 18-20th.)

I've attended the Super Chevy Show in Houston a few years back, and yeah, it's part "show", & part race - the one that I attended had at least 2 jet cars, & a wheelstanding school bus. I figure that it may be somewhere between 60% & 75% of the Mile-High Nats, the only thing that's really missing (IIRC) are the REALLY brutal cars like the Top Fuelers, & maybe the Funny Cars...

I might be there this year, although I've been giving more thought to just showing up for a T-&-T one Weds. night & seeing how my tires & suspension pieces can hook...

I have been there the past 5 years, and YES it is both show and race. The show is a little different than most because it has to be a chevy, and in your case because it is chevy powered it could be entered in the OPEN class, but that is usually pretty hot stuff in there. The racing is rad and would recommend as mentioned above the Saturday races. If you want to come and meet up I KNOW I will be there, Nortz89, and I suspect irocbirdbuilder will show up. Sunday is the best day for the car show cause that is the one day of actual judging, so most cars come then. The entire show is the best of all shows that I usually do all year... racing, vendors, swap meet, hot chicks, and tons of cool rides in the show section.

To anyone that wants to hang out for a bit I will be there on both days, my car will be in the show car section... Black with teal hertige stripes, and black 18" rims - hard to miss

Last year, the Saturday "bonus" race (sorry, I shouldn't call it something they don't - basically, the pay-out is based on # of entries, so it really is a "jackpot" race) was rained out after a couple of rounds. They picked it back up Sunday, mixed in with the regular Saturday races. They start the bonus race with box and non-box cars separated, then mix them up in the later rounds. I managed to make it to the finals, was paired with an 8.5 sec dragster (with box, of course), treed him then like a fool backed off at the traps and he pulled around me by less than half the difference between our lights - had I stayed on it, I wouldn't have broken out, and would have beat him. Grrrrr! That little mistake cost me $750, but it was still the biggest pay-out I've ever had at Bandimere.

I picked up the converter I'm running in the '57 from one of the vendors at the 2003 show. Paid about $75 less than other places had it at the time. You can get some deals if you know what you're looking at.

Thanks five7kid for the correction on the date. Don't forget there will be nitro cars too so you will enjoy going there to see all kinds of Chevy cars and trucks. Yeah, I'm up for the meet at the track to get to know each other and check out our third generation camaro/firebird. Basically anybody with a chevy powered car can run in bracket class on Sunday good chance to win some money

Actually, if you go to the Super Chevy Show site ( Super Chevy Show , paragraph 1), it says this about the bracket racing: "...open to all General Motors Models, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Cadillac and Saturn." Doesn't have to be a Chevy powerplant as in years past. It was open to all GM last year, as a matter of fact - the 2003 national Super Pro champ came out last year in his dragster, the first time he was allowed since it has a Ponco powerplant.

The weather.com hour-by-hour forecast for Bandimere shows showers every daylight hour Saturday and Sunday.

I saw your car, but missed you. I'll try again tomorrow, assuming you'll be back. Weather sure got nasty to end the day, forecast is slightly better for Sunday.

The Camaro ran a best-ever in the first time trial with my son driving it yesterday.

The forecast does look better for today, but still says isolated showers starting about 2 p.m.

I'll make a point of looking for you. We'll be going to the RFC chapel service at 8:30, will look for you after that.
