Hey guys noob here.
Yep I own a few mustangs but have also owned a few third gens in the past.
Lately I have been getting the itch to grab another 3rd gen Fbody.
I would really love to have a 5.0/T5/TPI/Solid roof IROC car in the darker shade of red and the gold graphix to match my Saleen mustang but I would take pretty much any 5.0/T5/TPI/solid roof car.
Anyway I'm going to get back to lurking around and reading up on 3rd gens. If anyone knows of a 3rd gen for sale that would match my criteria please give me a holler.

Car: 1987 Camaro,'89 firebird
Engine: 305 quadjet, 305 tbi
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: 2.73. 3.2xs
i might be selling mine it's a 305 with a newly rebuilt carb. Paint is a little bad. Body has little rust (on hood primarily). Interior isn't to bad if you could get a new driver's seat as it is ripped on the left side pretty bad. Right now carb is getting rebuilt so it's not drivable. but if you want it just offer up, I can barely afford gas and insurance for this baby so im planning on selling it.

The wifes younger brother just bought my SVO and we just picked up the new shortblock last week.
And I just broke the Saleen last night. I just got done racing a new R6 on wads and on the way back to Erics house I had a little incident that involved a piston meeting a valve. It might have had something to do with seing 7k on the tach.
Anyway I limped her into Erics garage and pulled a VC to find a bent pushrod on the #1 intake and a mangled rocker arm. It looks like the valve is bent but I wont know untill I pull the head.
What really sucks is that is the side that the turbo is mounted on so its a real pita to pull that head.
oh well sh#$ happens.

First off, welcome. I'm guessing that you're specifying a 5.0 car so that you can get the manual tranny instead of the auto?

Yeah I want a manual car. I will be doing some open track events and prefer a manual trans.
I have looked at a few of those cars on craigslist but none of them realy inspired me.
And no ofense to anyone but I really dont like purple cars.

So you've got a 86 saleen with a turbo what size? what are the specs. I know this is a thirdgen board but I always like to hear about local turbo cars.

Stock block, Iron GT40 heads, ecam, Performer 5.0 intake, 70mm Tb0dy, 77mm MAF, 36lb squirters.
T44 turbo (its a little guy), 38mm wastegate. The kit is from PTS.
I'm still running the stock WC T5 and 8.8 with 3.55s.
8lbs Dynoed 430/520. We had to take a bunch of timing out of the top end and add fuel because my injectors are a little to small and its non intercooled.
I'm happy with those #s as its a street car and I also open track it and race at Bandi on Club clash nights.
Intercooler, bigger squirters, more boost and I dont see a problem making 500 to the wheels.
Pics from LaJunta raceway at a NASA event.

not really formely, last year i belive you were up at the sonic (93nd and feds) with both cars before the turbo was on the saleen. and i think you were telling me the svo was runnin high 14's or something. lol seeing you leave in the svo and hearing it "roar" really turned me on to svos from then on.
also i think the saleen was on display on ford day right. cause im sure i chatted with you a little. but who didn't, EVERYBODY loves that saleen.
