Hey guys

A few questions for you guys and yes I know this is not the right forum but hey i like talking to the locals.

The CMC rules call for basicly stock engines but do offer a spec engine for the 3rd gen camaro.

The spec engine consists of.
Edelbrock Performer cam/intake and a Holley 4776 600 double pumper and stock exhaust manifolds. You can run any exhaust after the manifolds that you want.

Hp/TQ goals are 220-230 and as close to 300TQ as possible.

The plan for the 305.
Spec intake/cam/carb. Dual snorkel aircleaner and underdrive pullies.

Now the question that I have is do you think this combo will make those #s? If not what heads/manifolds can I scrounge from another third gen to make the #s.

The motor will be coming out so that I can install the required canton oil pan and a basic freshening up of the long block. The budget is tight as I need the cage/suspension and spec tires still and I am trying to leave enoguh money for a driving school so that I can get my provisional lcense before 07.

thanks

kyle

oh yeah the car is now in my garage and the title is mine so if any of you guys want some of the interior shoot me a reasonable price. I will need to keep the seats in the car for a little while and the seat belts however as soon as I scrounge up the cash for a Kirkey or two and a set of 5point harness's the seats will be up for sale.

One last thing. Anyone want to buy a single turbo set up for a 5.0 mustang? 450RWHP/520RWTQ @ 8lbs of boost.

No problem. The turbo should support 560RWHP but you would be maxing it out and exceeding the compressor efficiency.

hey shoot me a pm when you want to get rid of the driver's side reciever seatbelt. BTW you may want to look into L69 exhaust manifolds because if i remember correctly they flowed better.

hell, i bet you could probably even port those exaust manifolds. what's that called..."extrude hone" where they blast a bunch of sand and **** to clean up the casting...

Good to know. This is the kind of info that I need. Refresh my memory. What years are the L69s and what do I need to look for when I am scrounging around the J/Y. I also want a dual snorkel aircleaner and if I remeber correctly I want one from either a L69 or a 454 TBI truck.

What about heads. IIRC LO3 heads kinda blow and I was thinking about a set of TPI heads.

Keep the ideas coming gentleman and ladies. I love building cars from J/Y parts and others "junk" parts.

I'm not sure if you can do this, or if it will help you. I was thinking about tbi/ carbed cars and the air induction. What would happen if you used the TPI air intake then ran a 3" pipe to a single inlet air cleaner housing. If combine with a TPI ram air intake set up, I think this should supply nice cool air while you are running at speed around the track, instead of sucking up hot air underhood. I don't know how this would compare to the 305 H.O. dual snorkel air cleaner set up, but know those are hard to find.

That all I have at the moment to try and help.

BTW - You never said what color the interior is, or showed us pics of this car

Actually, what they do is force an abrasive paste thru the object in order to smooth all of the surfaces, even those that can't be reached using conventional methods. More info at this link.
