85,000 Drive or preserve my car

Well today my car reached 85,000 miles. Should I park and drive on weelkends or does it really matter how many miles are on a 92? Is there any value in keeping this car below 100,000. the car is rust free and is in good condition. What would you do?

miles don't me crap if the car is not beat on. A 68 or 69 org camaro is going to be worth a bunch if it has 200 miles on it or 200000 on it. Of corse alot more with 200 on it. But cars are meant to drive and have fun in. Not sit in a garage rusting away.

I have a 91 ta with about 80000 miles and I ask my self that question every day. No rust on car not beat on should I enjoy or save. What are we truly saving then for I guess it all depends on what your plans are for the car. I myself will drive 3-6 thousand miles a year cars that sit to long have more problems then one's that are driven. If you want to save you are going to have to sit on these cars for at least another 10 years before its going to be worth anything. Its up to you only you can make the choice

Well, play the numbers game.

Any non TPI performance car will be significantly less than any other version, so build it, drive it and enjoy it, doesnt mean you cant take care of it.

My 91 Formula has 100+ on the clock , think its 115 or 117 now and its all rebuilt excpet for the paint and its going to see lots of road time when done. Planning on painting it this year still once I start working again.

My 91 GTA has 51k on it and was mint when I bought it with 17k on the clock. Dumbass kid fliping over the hood mangled my pass frt fender and some a$$hole in a parking lot kinked the wheelwell lip and the dumb paint is delaminating from the spoiler now too. Its going to get a new lower ported intake when I reseal the intake and fresh valve seals and springs too. Its either getting all the damage replaced and repainted or the entire car painted, not sure which yet. It will be a nice weather and weekend driver when all is said and done.

The TTA is a toy, it will get driven and raced, but it will go out for shows and especially the buick Nationals. It has a lot of $$$ in it and the paint and interior are both in good shape with the exception of the seats needing to be recovered, which I will prolly do myself. It isnt a spring chicken at 103k on the clock, but it is still a beautiful car and defintiely has a heritage. It will get driven irregardless, cause its damned fun to drive.

later
Jeremy

I have 161,000 miles on my 89 Iroc, I bought it with 148,000 a little over 2 years ago. Drive It!! If you take care of it miles won't really matter.

Drive it, why else have it?

I mean driving it and beating the snot out of it are two different things, i bought my bird with 60,000 on it 5 years ago in almost mint condition. It has since been hit 3 times, repainted, and had 3 different motors in it with 120,000 on the clock.

But in my opinion it is nicer now than it was when i got it.,

unless a vehicle has super low miles on it, it won't matter. your car is just an RS that will have a non-numbers matching motor so in the big game picture it won't be worth anything as a collector's ride in the future. so i'd just drive the **** out of it.

i know i would like to drive mine more, even though mine has only 75,000 on it...i bought mine when it was 51,000 miles on it
even though the car runs excellent with no signs of leaks whatso ever...however it is envitable that things will happen whether its paint chipping away or a rear main seal leaking in any mile range...
but being that the price of gas has gone up,(i ain't even planning on buying cheap gas...only the best goes into my baby), i'm gonna have to limit my driving until i can find a way to prevent her from drinking the gas in big gulps...but still i'll ride on

Drive it. I have 105 on my IROC and I could care less. I don't plan on selling it anyway, so miles is just a number to me.

I'm kinda in the same sitiuation. Drive it or not, Mod it or keep it original. My 87 Iroc only has 60,000.

I know stock low milage 350 TPI cars bring more money but the speed bug keeps biteing.
