Still need a a/c delete box, and a through cleaning of the bay. I just did some spots to see if crap would come up. I really need to do a lot of dissasembly to clean it the way I want.
Hell, I want to paint it along with the car next year.

whats wrong with v-belt? Looks much better IMO and sits much lower.
Serpentine looks too cluttered.

If u yanked the AC compressor, just yank the alternator and mount it down where the smog pump was and cut the brackets down.
Voila instant low mount serpentine setup without the hassles and garbage of a v-belt system.
V-belts can rot in heck for all I care if you like them, your either smoking crack or havent had enough cars with them to be annoyed by them yet :-)
Been there done that, I'll stay with one belt :-)
later

I thought about doing that Jermey, but didn't know if I yet wanted to cut the hell out of a serpentine setup. I may want to put AC back in there one day.
I have the next two weeks off, its something I will consider in my two weeks.
A saw zaw should cut through aluminum like butter I'd think.

Since everyone likes pictures of deleted items, I'll take some shots of my "everything" delete later

It's funny though, for as high as the front end sits, you'd think there wasn't a motor or trans in it. Haha.

Rearend out of a 2002 Z28 with 3.23s but no brakes.

Darn, I priced out all of the major parts and it comes to about $220 for just calipers, and new pads.
So unless I get one with calipers I'm kinda screwed. Lines, caliper bolts, and pads I can get cheap enough. But the LS1 calipers are $57 each, with a $35 core charge each. Cheap pads are $35.
Does it come with rotors at all?

I've got an extra set of Z06 rear calipers that I'll sell ya for $120 for the pair. They're used, but seem to be in good shape. Worst case scenario, they're 4 years old. Still newer then most of our 3rd gens are rolling around on. They interchange with the LS1s BTW.
Anyway, no rotors, but hopefully that caliper deal will help ya out.
[edit] A junkyard would probably be your cheapest bet. V6 cars had the same brakes as the V8 cars.
Your other option would be to put PBR brakes on it. If you go with PBRs, I have a rear caliper you can have for a core. I never turned it in when I did the rears that are currently on the car.

You'd need 10-bolt backing plates and caliper brackets. Other then that, LS1 brakes fit on a 3rd gen rear end, 1LE/LT1 rear brakes should fit on an LS1 rear.
You can run without the backing plates though if you want, I plan on it.

The only correct way to ditch the A/C and have it look decent while retaining heat is to find a a/c delete box and get the pulley.
I got the pulley from a huge online parts site for $45.00 and the delete box for $10.00 at a local junkyard.
Saved about 50lbs off the front end, made plug changes way easier and was a cinch to install the headers.
