Winter projects

Since it hasnt been asked whats everybody doing to the cars this winter? All I have lined up is fix the oil pump in the 88 and fix the drivers power window in the 92. Im spending most of the time on the pickup so unfortunatly the 3rd gens are on hold for now.

Stealthram install on the 91 RS. Rearend swap on the 90. Oh and find a T56 that can handle a 200 shot for the RS.

Basically, just get the car running, install all the weatherstripping, the interior, stereo, gauges, the Moser 9" rearend, the front C4HD brakes and 1LE rears, STB, LCA's, panhard bar, etc. You know, little stuff.

It's all sitting here except for the rear brakes- just gotta get out in the garage and thrash.

Mmmmm.... 31-spline N-case 3.70 locker...

Basically get the L98 built and perhaps get the tranny rebuilt before april so I can have the ROC going before the summer. The rotating assembly is all done, internals balanced, crank polished, pistons cleaned and polished, block painted, intake painted. Just need to be built now.

-Save all the money possible so I have money for the first NASA event of the year

-Weld some patches into the floor and maybe a 6pt cage if I can find some out of date harnesses for a steal.

-Routine maintenance: check wheel bearings, brakes, steering, make sure all bolts are tight, etc

-Start stripping the new roller.

I am in the process of building a Megasquirt II system that I got for Christmas. I also have a forged Scat 383 rotating assembly that is on its way and a new block that will get the machine work done this winter.
I will have the Megasquirt on the car and running this winter, but the engine won't be done until sometime in '07.

New 17x8" wheels and tires along with a complete C-5 corvette front brakes package and LT1 rear disc conversion to get rid of the old drums on there now. Panhard bar lowering bracket to help with the geometry of the lowered suspension. Out of money now..

First thing on my list is deciding if I'm going to keep both cars come spring

Birdie needs a new trans and a dyno tune along with a bunch of small freebie/cheap things (just fixes and the like).

Z needs a rearend (might swap the one in the birdie), rebuilt the T-56, headers, cam, etc.

Well I have a whole list of things I need to do. Priority #1 is either rebuilding the 10 bolt in my 94 camaro or "maybe" a 9 inch if the cash flow picks up. Then Id like to tear the motor down and install new rings, bearings, and oil pump (.030 bore if needed). But at the moment Im doing some free stuff to the IROC. Gotta finish porting the intake base, install the LT1 cam, put in the new trans, swap in the big brake 9 bolt with 3.27s, straighten the 1/4 out from the mail box incident, install the new passenger side fender from the same mail box, find some nice 4th gen seats and maybe just maybe get some fresh yellow paint on it.

We'll see. It needs a bit of suspension work to be any good though. Body roll feels a lot worse in this thing than in my bird.

Also, Jeremy, you'll have a PM in a little while.

The first time out, body roll is the least of your worries. The biggest one is trying to get the smile off your face before it freezes and the second one is trying to unclench your butthole after you fade the brakes into a fast corner

They have lapping days where you can go drive your car on a road course with an instructor so you learn correctly, then you can drive by yourself when you're signed off or keep going and go for a competition license. My sig spells out my plans
