i'd sell the 305 out of my camaro for the right price but i have several hundred into it already. it's the motor i fired up at thirdgenfest, based on a 110 lsa cam not sure if that's tpi friendly.

I have an L98 with around 100k on it I could probably part with. It's just sitting in the garage. I bought it a month or two ago, pulled the heads to check things out and haven't touched it since. It should just need the heads put back on. I've got about $300 in it, so you could have it for that.

If you're interested, I can take some pictures for you.

if you guys are doing this on a budget i would think you'd want something that doesn't need a rebuild? since gaskets, bearings, rings, etc all cost a lot more money than a running engine would.

Spend a day at the junkyard.

Look for GM Goodwrench labels on the valve covers and check out the first one u see.

Preferably full size so u can try and pull the pan in the yard to check out the mains after you compression test it.

If it looks ok, yank it and run for like 150$

It can be done if you know what your looking for.

later

really what rings and bearings do you buy?

I think the junk yard is your best bet for a cheap "runner"
