Re: more snow coming....so winter projects?
My custom leather interior (seats &door panels) will be in tomorrow. It will make my (92) car an instant contender for best interior on Memorial Day weekend.
Plan to install shift kit in 92 and MSD new wires next week.
new carb to be ordered in Feb
If income tax is good to me I plan on putting sub frames conectors on both cars
Finally got a pick up truck(Ford Ranger but heh it was free) so both Camaros are no longer driven in winter. They are in full retirement.

Re: more snow coming....so winter projects?
Two weeks ago I bolted on the 5.5" Quartermaster triple disc clutch and checked my clearances. I have to go get some .250" hardened washers to space the bearing retainer bolts and rebuild the hydraulic TO bearing and it'll be ready to roll.
I spent some time cleaning the serpentine brackets and my Performer RPM intake too. Everything is ready to bolt on, but I might be ducting the radiator exhaust out of the hood, so I might have to move the alternator.
The stock dash is completely gone, so if anyone has some 1/8" AL plate, I need about a 8" x 24" piece. I also have to re-wire the whole car since I sold the wiring harness with the TPI setup.
#134 is going to tip the scales at about 2875 (with me and 5 gals fuel) post race this year.
That's with switching to 275/40/17s and Z06 fronts from 255/50/16s and GTA wheels

Re: more snow coming....so winter projects?
It's the same engine from last year with a carb instead of fuel injection. I had to put new pistons and rod bearings in it due to the fuel starvation issues. Took chunks out of 2 pistons and we replaced the other 6 as cheap insurance.
My camera was out of batteries or I'd have pics of the 5.5" clutch installed. Here's a teaser pic, this is the flywheel
Here's the schedule for 2008:
April 26-27 2008 • Gateway (St. Louis)
May 17-18 2008 • Putnam Park (near Cloverdale, IN)
June 7-8 2008 • Grattan (Belding, MI, near Grand Rapids +3 Hour Enduro)
July 19-20 2008 • Autobahn - South (Joliet, IL +3 Hour Enduro)
August 1-3 2008 • Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI +2 Hour Enduro)
September 11-14 2008 • NASA National Championships (Mid-Ohio)
October 13 2008 • Autobahn - Full Track (Joliet, IL - Monday only)
I'm not sure if I'll make Gateway. I want the car to be READY this year vs. just making races.
I'll only be there on Sunday at the July Autobahn event because my buddy decided to get married that day and make me his best man even though I specifically told him not to choose that date.
Though, it's possible that Bob Denton who drives the red Firebird will be in my car for the Saturday race. Then we'll know if it's the car or driver who's slow

Re: more snow coming....so winter projects?
roll bar, minitubb, fix any rust. get rid of the well in the trunk since its going to be a drag car. get rid of the small well thingy in the passenger side of the car where you put your feet and see if its possibale to get rid of the wells frm the back seat where. so when you look inside. it should be flat with out any hills i gues syou can call them... and hopfully free up some clearence for some exhaust piping and other things if its possible.
i would tink it should lighten up the car alittle bit.
every little bit helps
i just started workig on i yesterday acturaly. here is a photo.

Re: more snow coming....so winter projects?
I ran my entire HPDE time on Autozone brake pads with stock brakes, upgraded the suspension as I needed it, and didn't bolt on better then a 200 treadwear tire until Group 4 (after 6 events!). You can spend the money on upgrades, but you don't NEED to spend it to have fun.
Definitely come check it out in July. I got Jeremy (3.8TransAm), Dave (novadk), and Raul (sorry if I screwed up, I'm bad with names) to come check it out last year and everyone enjoyed it.
Dave: Surprisingly, I only have $500 in the clutch setup and hydraulic TO bearing + rebuild kit. Buying used stock car parts on ebay really helps the budget

Re: more snow coming....so winter projects?
my project is to find the sob that hit my door AGAIN!! lol
Unfortunately wasn't able to store the car for winter so it's been snowed on a little bit. Was driving it today as well when the snow started coming down - couldn't get that thing over 25mph with the crap tires I have on there...bout time to shell out a few bucks for some tires.

Re: more snow coming....so winter projects?
I got my hood and ground effects painted, got my new wheels, and got my new license plate. I am now waiting for new tires. I was going to run 26" tires but when I saw them they did not look good, so I am waiting on 28" mickey thompson drag radials. Here are some photos (the fresh hood makes the rest of the car look bad, but it just needs a wash and wax):

Re: more snow coming....so winter projects?
Mine has been up on jackstands for about a month now, just doing some minor exterior body cleanup/restoration. Trying to get those few remaining points at shows. Last "warm like" day we had I took all the stuff off the car, put it in the house and have been working on it inside the house. Now I need another "warm like" day to put it all back on the car.
Come on Spring!!!!

Re: more snow coming....so winter projects?
Spun a main bearing last fall.
Just got the billet main caps align bored/honed.
Guess I'm just taking the scientific approach with the intake and heads since they're off anyway.
Porting just enough to maintain consistent and equal cross section areas through the intake manifold and pushrod pinch areas. (I'll get rich and finish building my flowbench someday)
Unshrouding valves and opening chambers slightly.
Also trying to maximize plenum volume and match that with header collecter volume, etc.
The wife is a bit irritated about all the aluminum shavings in the spare bedroom, but it beats working in the cold garage, and the vacuum cleans it up easily,LOL!!
