I was washing my car today and thought that we should have provisions to wash our cars if needed. At the Ohio Trans Am nationals last year everyone had to use a do-it-urself car wash. The fact that it rained every nite didn't help. I would hope that the fairgrounds would let us use some water.
Any thoughts?

I am not too worried about cleaning it at the Nationals..

I think what would be even better is if you could have either a paint a body expert or a detailing professional hold demonstrations on the proper tools and techniques to use to get that deep crystal shine.
Just a thought. I know I'd like to learn.

Ask on the appearance board, you'll find very knowledgable people on it.Originally posted by FIRECHICKEN

my uncle lives about 40 minutes from frederick just below martinsburg in WV, i plan on stopping there and washing her to get all the bugs off from the 4 hour drive...and wax it...hell ill probably detail it again...if i get off work and can show up
5 hour drive seems like nothing compared to what some of you guys are talking about, 10 or 12 hours...or even more
you guys are dedicated for sure

FWIW, there's a car-wash right down the street from the fairgrounds. It's the kind with several bays where you pull in and put change in the thingy and use the spray hose to wash, rinse, etc. Your best bet is to bring a bucket, sponge, and your favorite soap so you don't have to use their 'foaming sponge'. Like I said, it's really close to the fairgrounds - next to the Sheetz, Taco Bell, and Waffle House.
I live down the street from the fairgrounds so if there's anymore questions let me know.
