If I'm uninformed, please speak up!

This is the first time I've visited this board. I've read some of the threads and cannot seem to find the specifics about the Nationals. Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but it seems that they have not been determined yet:

Location?
Date?

If it has been decided, there should be a sticky for all to see, instead of having to read four page threads, only to find out no one can agree on where it should be. Am I wrong?

It's very true that no matter what and where the location will be, most will not be able to make it simply because of distance. I have an idea that might help solve this>> Why not have three locations: East, Central, & West. All will be held on the same day. Once it's over and done with, a list of attendees will be posted along with information on their car. Oh, and pics too, lots of them from all locations should be posted.

It's true that if the Nationals are segmented like I propose, it would not be a "true" National gathering. But it would be far better than to have it near the east coast (for example), and have guys that live over 1,000 miles not attend when they could have one closer to their homes.

Would my idea cause a logistical nightmare to organize or do you feel it's workable? Again, just an idea to poke at guys!

I think it's a good idea, but as of yet, no one else has stepped up to the plate, so to speak. (to organize the other 2 locations)

and as of now, I'm not sure if my car will make it, needs a transmission, and short on money

Willie, thanks for posting your question because I was wondering the same thing.

As for the third gen nationals, this will be my first year and I will be trying like hell to attend... the sooner that I can get a date and location, the sooner that I can figure out how I want to get there.

i think something like this for us on the west coast is a great idea, and since willie seems to be up to taking charge of it, should start looking into places to hold it, and see what can be worked out, id much rather be able to go to one close then not go to one at all.

Well, there are two big parties going on in the Midwest. I've got Third Gen Fest '04 the end of May and then Josh is having one in June. There is more information on both parties in the Gathering Boards. I guess the west coast people need to come up with something too. However, I say keep them on separate days that way people can go to a few of them if they want to. I know quite a few people are going to both of the Midwest gatherings.
