Help with times at the track.

Here is what i have done to the car to start. a 350 bored .30 over, 3.73 auborne posi, edelbrock preformer intake and 600 cfm carb. The exhaust is stock for now which is holding me back bad right now. Getting hooker comp headers magnaflow cat and hooker cat back in 2 weeks while my lincense is suspended. At English town last night it was in the 70's and really low humidity. i only got one run so i got a rain check to go again. the only run i got i was tellin my self to easy with the gas but i floored it and dropped the clutch at about 2,600 tire spin up to 5,300 then it droped back to about 4,000. i still pulled a 2.2 60' I figured with no tire spin maybe a 1.9 60'. he is where it starts to suck. my stock exhaust, and i have a vacume leak somewhere in the engine bay. i shifted out of 1st at about 5,300 after it got back up there for the 2nd time. then i shifted out of 2nd at about the same 5,400. i was pissed that i had tire spin on my only run of the night so i kept it in 3rd all the way up to 6,100 never shifting into 4th. I ran a 15.2 here is what i am thinking. get rid of that really bad tire spin should be 14.5 about. with the full exhaust hope to break into the 13's. I have never spun my tires like i did on that launch. they wouldnt stop. what do you guys or gals think?

You are right about the exhaust holding you up majorly. Haveing a vacuum leak will probley make it stumble in the launch or high RPMs. Fix that and you should notice it running smoother and stronger. I would get the exhaust and see how that helps you!

Well, unless you were spinning past the 60 foot mark somehow I don't see how you will pick up much time on the launch, a 2.2 isn't really that bad. You could maybe get down to a 2.0 with street tires, so you'd just barely break into 14s I would think. Still pretty damn slow for a 350, hopefully the tuning and exhaust and will make a drastic difference for you...

yeah,if you are really drilling it off the line and still hitting 2.2 60's,its not gonna make a whole lotts difference.1.9x on street tires is very good with no real suspension mod.Im hitting 2.10 60s, spinning @1/2 throttle a good 30 ft ,then flooring it,THATS a traction prob, and leaving at idle.I even have SSM lift bars, but if it never tries to hook, they dont do anything but weigh a lot. LOL.I recomend getting ALL your tuning issues handled before you go again ,and possibly hurt something.

I am going to be running the car only one more time before i sell it and then upgrade to a 4th gen LS1. I know it sucks but i can't deal with a carb right now. I know jack about them. I know more about LS1's then i do about my car because it is a carb. I am going to get it tuned and my catback and cat and that is it taking it to the track and putting it up for sale. hoping to get 6 or 7 for it. with everything. The system int he car is worth $3,000 and it is less then a month old. and boy does it pound. Also my car weighed 3,504 LBS.

taking the easy way out??? youll be just like every other 20 year old who owns a LS1, they think they are on top of the world cuz it can run 13s stock from factory. I know LS1 is *** like engine but *** the people put an exhaust on and think they the fastest things alive...take a 305 to 13s like me

This was my first carbed car and first stick car. i am also 21 not a nother 20 year old with a LS1. your just a jealous *** that wishes his parents would of bought him a LS1. i never get like this but you pissed me the fu{l< off. Why is it taking the easy way out? because i got money that i worked for and i'm getting a new car. a good %age of people on this board are jsut like you, anti rice, and against anything that is not 3rd gen. dude grow up. Little kids like you are the reason why they outlawed brother and sister marriages.

Do they still write your name in your underwear? Takinga 305 into the 13's like you it really looks like you are in the 13's with a 14.4 car. and on nitto 555's someting wrong with that 60' time a 2.2. dude get your $hit together before you come questioning me. I have owned 3 3rd gens and 1 2nd gen don't start talking out your ***.
