what would be the best converter gear combo?

right now ive got a stock torque converter and 3:42 gears out back. what would be the best aftermarket torque converter and the best gear for my bird. mods are in my sig. i was looking at getting a TCI breakaway converter and richmond 3:73 gears. how would they work?

I'd stick with the gears you have. With a nice high stall TC gearing becomes less important. With that 2.8 I'd look for something around 3000 stall.

With any higher stall converter, it is wise to also install a transmission cooler.

Agreed, especially if it isn't a high end converter cause they will create more heat even in normal driving.
