What will it run?

Just ordered a new motor for my 83TA, and of course, before i've even turned the key or run it in, want to know what it would do down the quarter mile. Its set up as follows:

-350ci Vortec (~330hp without the three mods below)
-hyperautectic flat top pistons giving 10:1 compression
-Speed Pro Cam .480 int/exh, duration @0.050 230 int/exh rpm range 2200-5500
-Power Plus Performance Intake Manifold
-Q-Jet (rebuilt, standard jets)
-Hedman Hedders with 2.5" single exhaust system, lukey straight thru muffler
-TH350 with 2500 stall
-Standard GM ignition
-Standard single snorkel & cowl air cleaner
-stock 3.7 rear (originally a T5 car, damn thing broke!)
-standard 15-inch turbo-fin wheels with 225's all round

That's about as much details as I can think of...

id say your gunna need some traction mods. maybe a slp posi rear, some sticky's, and a few other mods.

sounds like a nice setup though..

Your most likely looking at low 13's in good tune if you can get traction. I would invest in some subframes and LCA's at least. Good Luck.

I see tire smoke in your future...

Low 14's.

Almost identical to the setup I am running. Times in the sig on radial tires. I will have better numbers this year with a better tune and slicks instead of balding radial T/A tires.

I made a mistake in on the cam spec, apparently it is actually rated from 2200 to 6500rpm, although you can't expect much power past about 6000.

Souds like traction will be a problem. After the motor has run in, I will further mod the exhaust, and wheels to get some more rubber at the back. Then a dyno tune and possibly re-jet the q-jet...

Will also look as the sub frames, at least a stabiliser across the engine bay...

why do you guys think he will be in the high 13's or low 14's with that much motor? i am guessing you guys are basing that on the tires and suspension if that is the case then i would agree but with the right traction i would say mid to low 13's
