first time at track, 129.77mph
went to friebird raceway in boise idaho yesterday , eleavation 2700' after waiting out the rain they opened up the first 1/8 mile first run
r/t .377
60 1.847
330 5.414
1/8 8.295
mph 86.71
next run the opened up the full 1/4 and i turned on the bottle
r/t .215
60 2.893
330 8.416
1/8 11.556
1/4 16.305
mph 105.31
the bottle never came on and it fell on its face off ther line (no vent extensions) cked the switch and linkage , the secondary acc.pump arm was hitting the inlet fitting . i was onlt getting about 3/4 throttle !!!
changed arms and tried again this time i blew the et streets off out of the hole but still ran
r/t .363
60 2.13
330 5.353
1/8 7.845
mph 99.73
1000 9.941
1/4 11.686
mph 129.77
that was sidewase in 2nd and 3rd and still leaving black marks in 4th and they had vht'ed the whole 1/4 before the secomd run
tried a 4th run but it died off the line again the only good thing on the 4th run was the .001 r/t
this is with a 700 carb and my smallest fogger jets , and 8* of retard because its a new motor (safe tune)
what should i have run if i had not spun off the line with that mph ? i had a 1.8 60 foot prior and that one was 2.1. how much is the 1/4 time drop to the 60 foot time ? i have herd .2 in the 1/4 for each .1 in the 60 foot.

If you can hook really hard, you should be in the lower 10s. Just look at the difference traction made for the car in the right lane.

The car on the right has traction from looking at the 60' time and ET but the 1/4 mile MPH is very slow. Was that an elimination round and your opponent hit the brakes at the end? If not then his car is geared to max out at the 1/4 mile but should have a bit faster mph.
You MPH is huge compared to your ET. I don't know if 10's are possible but low 11's should be there if you can get the traction issue solved.

it was just opening test and tune. i think i am going to have to
go to a bigger tire . that was with 26x10.5x15 et streets. only 8.2" of tread . thinking 28x11.5 or 12.5 but not sure if they will fit

AUTOMEC, I saw you the other day driving the Camaro. I was in my '87 IROC getting ready to turn off of Skyline onto Grandview. You passed me headed towards the airport.
That car sounded MEAN
Its so damn cool that another 3rdGenner is in Idaho Falls!
BTW: Nice run! Especially at this elevation? Have you ever raced (damn I can't remember his name).... Andy? He has the red/yellow '86 IROC in town?
BTW: I never see your car at Downtown Performance anymore... Are you friends with the owner or do you own it?

hey dante , thanks for the compliment. its kevin that owns the red/yellow 86 and you can find us around each other most weekends. his best run last year was a 10.07 @138.6 . we played around a couple of years ago and it was dead even . his brother jeff owns the purple 85 with the pro charger .
the car has not been anywhere but my shop sience last augest when i broke 7 pistons and cracked 6 cyld. walls. just got the motor running 2 weeks ago ,it had 100 miles on it when i ran it .
i am good friends with the manager of downtown, and buy lots of parts from them being that my shop is a AC Delco TSS shop

BTW If you or anyone else in the area needs a set of 85-90 IROC/Z28 gfx, let me know. I recently went with 91-92 GFX and have my old ones for sale.

Nice times with some traction your car should fly (or atleast attempt to
). Do ya mind throwing down some motor specs?
