0-60mph

I am new to racing/times, thirdgens, and cars (other than driving), but back in January I bought a 92 Camaro RS and have just fallen in love, and I would really like to mod my car and what not to be better, but before I start doing any of that, I wanna know if I am doing something wrong when I try to see how fast it takes from 0-60.

All I do is pretty much is when its in drive, and I am stopped, i just put the pedal to the medal (automatic). And this takes me about 12 seconds to get to 60. If I drop it in low and take up all the way to drive, I can do it in about 10s.

Any help, or are these numbers right?

Seems really high. You should be closer to 8s. Are you getting alot of wheelspin?

Some things wrong then. If i mash the gas ill spin the tires almost all the way thru first but i also have the smaller 15 inch rims. If i get it too hook well i can pull 60 in around 7.5s.

You should go a little faster. Try to hold the brake pedal with your left foot and the gas pedal with your right foot. Try to take the RPM as high as you can without your rear tires begining to spin, when you find the best point, you let off the brake pedal and you mash the gas pedal from where you were holding it.
