First Time to the Drag Strip
well it was a bit disapointing but then again its only a 305 TBI and peanut cam. best time for the night was 16.349 @ 82.69 MPH. my worse was my first run at 17.108@81.53 MPH. after that they were pretty much all in the mid 16s. here is a list of all my times in order that i ran them.
17.108@81.53MPH
16.851@81.16MPH
16.639@83.00MPH
16.349@82.69MPH
16.476@83.23MPH
16.644@82.44MPH
16.389@82.88MPH
16.412@82.99MPH
16.900@81.94MPH
16.625@82.91MPH
16.530@82.10MPH
my 9th, 10th, and 11th run was with a Full tank of gas and the other 8 were on less than a 1/4 tank.
here are my averages for the entire night for the entire strip
R/T=0.804
60'=2.348
330'=6.909
1/8=10.66
MPH=64.80
1000'=13.896
1/4=16.629
MPH=82.44
i dont think its to bad considering it was my first time to the track. my last two or three runs i was cracking .6 R/Ts. also the car is a dog until it hits 2k rpm right now. need to do some playing with the timing. never really had a problem with traction off of the line. first run i just left it in OD and just punched it off the line. then i tried D a few times then when i ran my 16.349 i held it in first until 5k rpm(car shifts at 4500 if left in a higher gear). also when im crossing the finish line im only running about 3250-3750 RPM.
Saw some interesting cars and i even beat a newer model Mustang GT(this was not bracket racing) he for some odd reason ran a 24 second 1/4. there was also some pretty cool cars and even three bikes. all three were Hybussa GSX 1300R and they all ran low 10s and high 9s. all in all i had fun and enjoyed myself. the car really started to seem like it was coming alive twards the end of the night but as i was going to make my 12th run they closed the lanes so i headed home. all in all i think it was worth my $20.

Great job first time out!! Wish I coulda been there to help ya tweak to fine tune your trips down the track, but work calls.
Anyways, I'm assuming looking at your times the computer is still; hooked up? Those are prettty inconsistent numbers if carberated.
Great job, not too bad R/T's for your first time out. A little more practice and you'll be golden

You will now be addicted to running at the track
Took me 11 months to get back to the track for my second go around though lol I also beat a newer Mustang GT, he ran 14.14 @ 99 mph to my 13.56 @ 102.9. Next time out I hope to hit somewhere in the 12's
You sure got a lot of runs in
was it not busy there or did you just keep going around in circles? hehe

bumped the timing 6* today and it has alot more nut from 500-2500 rpm. before it wouldnt break them from a stop and now she will just rip em lose. must go back to drag strip soon.
I see your from iowa...what track do you got to??? I cant remember the name some of the guys here go to Eddieville maybe??? but anyways i hear its better than Rock Falls and whenever i go to rock falls its for saturday bracked days wich are like 45 to enter but i only end up gettin 5 runs cause im there to tune and try to go faster each run bracket racing just doesnt work for me. How many runs do you get and for how much $$$$???? also if you need any tips on gettin that auto outa the hole quick let me know, ive become pretty adept at launching.
<edit> whoa...20 bucks im there...... 24 second mustang
