My first 12 second time!
Well I finally broke into the the 12's tonight with one of my runs, I was getting a little pissed off there because I kept getting 13.0X times, then I let my car cool off for a couple of hours and thats when it happened.

Nice job. Definitely need to work on your 60' times. You should easily be able to get 2.0's on street tires, even lower on drag radials.
PhAnToMs - if you can't even hit 14's then you are not going to get much lower 60's because of lack of power. More power = lower 60's.

Thanks guys, actually I'am using nitto DR also just they don't prep the track on friday test and tune nights. Most of my other runs were in the 2.1x that night but ya I got to work on it, maybe I'll invest in some slicks. Funny thing is I get better traction on the street then at are track.

Congrats on the time
One of the techs said the same thing last time I was at the track about hooking up better on the street. No prep on the track, things start building up and it gets slick. Couple guys did put down some VHT themselves though.

Times look good, but how much boost is that running? I would have guessed higher traps, but not knocking you! Get some traction and run some mid 12s!
hey i compared your times to mine .im amazed that we both ran the same trap speed.
tonygta(manual trans) ---- heres mine(89 gta auto trans)
60' -- 2.216 ---- 1.886 - .330
330'--5.699 ---- 5.318 - . 381
1/8---8.535 ---- 8.168 - .367
MPH--86.923 ---- 86.40 +.52mph
1000'--10.954 ---- 10.640 - .314
E.T.---12.998 ---- 12.738 - .260
MPH--107.374 ---- 107.37
if we both raced u would be gaining on me.
i could really see the difference between the auto and stick.Looks like u could really be in the mid 12`s if u cut 1.88 60 ft time like i did.The auto cuts good 60ft time realatively easy, but u can see how torque converter slippage takes a toll at the top end.Practice your launch technique, use slick and you`ll have a near mid 12 timeslip.

I have a 3.4" pulley waiting to go in, just need to find a belt for it.

I run open headers (conventional headman headers). The torque converter i run is 10 inch coan converter that stalls at around 3500 rpms.As far as u running 103 mph, u might be running at a higher elevation than I.Since we both have the same cam,Where do u shift at??, i had my engine on the dyno and peaked at 6600 rpms @ 450hp.u also have slightly less compression than i do, so u might be down 20-30hp.Also your car could weigh more than mine.As u can see there alot of variables.do me a favor i`d like to compare your cranking compression pressure vs mine (185~190psi). Whats your total advance timing??

never tried a lower shift point again that night. Taking the car to a chassis dyno this month to find out what numbers it puts down. Timing is locked out at 36* and best mph from that was 102.5 I think. The 103 run was with total at 39* not locked out. I'll go do a compression test in a bit, gotta go eat something first hehe. Congrats!
I got my first 13-sec. timeslip two years ago in Topeka. With the mods done since, I've made a few 13-sec runs up here now, which would be in the 12's at the lower altitude.
I'm hoping to qualify for the Div V ET finals next month, which will be in Topeka, to get a shot at one. Of course, if I do, I'll have to back off because I'll be running the Sportsman class which has a 13.00 min dial.
That first milestone time slip sure is sweet, though.

ok i weighed my at 3361 ,thats with an almost empty tank and without me 175 pounds.so i figure on track day . i should weigh in between 3500-3600 pounds.oh by the i weighed my car using 12 bathroom scales lol,so i could be off a little.
let the bashing begin lol Supreme Member

Well chit, looks like my compression isn't as high as I thought it would be
just did two cylinders and they were both 125 psi which is around 9.5:1 I was hoping it would have been up around 10:1
And how did you manage the bathroom scale thing? LOL

as far as bathroom scale thing.this is what i did i bought the same scale from a few different walgreens in my neighborhood, because each store had only 2,some had 3.so now i have 12 in total ,each has a max of 300lbs.Then i went to home depot bought a 10 foot 4x6(around that size).cut it into 4 equal pieces,i had the guy in homedepot do it for me.so under each wheel i had a wood board on top of 3 scales.then i just added up all 12 scales and came up with the weight.
