Mildly modded Lb9/auto 1/4 times please

My friends are ragging on me for having a 5.0/auto and beating their cars and they are saying my car is high-15/low 16 car or it's got mods I don't know of like a big cam. I say it's low 15's stock. I have beaten turbo Jetta's, newer Maxima SE's, and a Bonny SSEi with the 240hp supercharged V6 from a roll and a dig.

So please, put up your stock to mildly modded times (and tell us the mods you had at the time of those timeslips), & your rear end ratio, to back me up here so I can show my friends later and prove them wrong.

Again, auto/Lb9's only.

Thanks.

Well, for what it's worth, my 91 L03 RS turned a 15.7 being totally stock with 190,xxx miles on the stock 305 TBI with my only mods being straightpipes, chip, open element, and 4 degrees timing advance. And that's with 2.73's. I'm doubtlful that my L03 was touching the stock power numbers of the average LB9, even with those mods. Most LB9s in a decent tune with a decent driver that I see run low 15s.

Car: 1987 IROC-Z Camaro
Engine: 5.7 350 TPI - SLP Runners, AFPR, MSD Goodies
Transmission: 700R4 - Shift Kit, Corvette Servo
Axle/Gears: BW 9 bolt, 3.27s
.

If you run using strictly bolt ons (headers, ect) You'll see low 15's. If you do any mojor modifications like a new intake, runners, plenum porting, you'll see mid to high 14's.

I got to race my car this weekend and I got a new best time. I ran 9.36 in the 1/8. That does not seem fast but all I have is 3 inch cat back with flowmaster 50 series single outlet, airfoil, a/c delete, and AFPR set at 48 psi. My last best was 9.58 then I put on the AFPR and that was it. I dropped 2 tenths by changing the pressure to 48 psi. I have 2.77 gears in an 89 GTA with a 5.7. I also pulled a 2.1 60 ft. Before the AFPR I was pulling 2.2 to 2.3 60 ft.

Your car stock should be low-mid 15's, probably about a 15.0-15.1. A G92 LB9 would touch high 14's in stock trim.

There was a good bit of arguing on whether or not the 90-92 305 TPI autos might not be underrated. Several people have claimed they all (along with the non-G92 lower rated 5spd TPI cars) actually got the hotter cam from the 230hp 5spd TPI cars. Which if true would make them a good bit faster than the average previous LB9 autos (except maybe 85s)

I'm pretty sure a couple guys here with stock/near stock 91-92 305 TPI autos were running down in the 15.1-15.3 range... If I'm not mistaken the factory 1/4 "rating"/advertised estimate for them was indeed low 15s...

Before I starting to mod my car it was running a 15.8 in the 1/4 with a g-tech.
Now, without the nitrous, it is running a 14.1-14.2 in the 1/4. I think with a higher stall it would be in the 13's, easily.

14.66 @92 with 1.98 60 ft. 5k shifts.....
K&Ns ,chip, headers, exhaust, descreened MAF, air foil, bald *** street tires. Had about 3/4 tank of gas, and full street trim including the spare tire in the car.

Its an 86 Iroc with the 190 hp rating and I was hot lapping.
2.73 gear with a posi that takes vacations periodically

I took my 85 Camaro to the track a while ago with a stock 305 TPI, and got 15.9 @85.5. Best mph was 86.1. This was in around 95 deg. temp, with 2.2 60's. Cooler weather, and better launching should net this lb9 a 15.6-7 I would think.
