FINALLY, getting the gears put in

any ideas as what this thing will be capable of? LOL

finally getting my 3.27's put in, and the LCA relocation brackets welded on

my best 60 foot was 1.89 on my street tires with the 2.77 gears
i think i can hit a high 1.7 if i do it right with the new gears

i ran a 13.89 at 96.6 mph with the 2.77's, crossing the line at about 3500rpms.

i think the 3.27's will put me thru the traps at 4000rpms or more hopefully and thus bring my mph up to 98mph or so, even tho its not suppose to increase i hear, but i think 2.77's are really hurting the car and 3.27's will really open it up to gain some mph, it only makes sense that you go thru gears faster, it should gain more speed.

so with that, i hope to hit 13.7's or so at 98mph and maybe drop 13.6's with great traction and a good day....

but we'll see...

I am going to guess that you pick up an average of .1 to .2 in the 1/4.

^~--- What he said. You will barely see a loss in gas mileage. Plus those 3.27's + TPI = Nice daily driver gear that bites and goes. I love mine.

thats what i figure, i wish i had 3.45's but 3.27's should make a damn good daily driver with bite!

i will be real happy if i can knock off .2 tenths

2 tenths wouldn't be that hard, just have to practice the new launch, it's a little trickier.

yep, i figured i gotta mess with the launch abit... i do it on the street all the time, i got this back road that no one uses and i practice launching it alot. i can do it really good and consistant but wheel spin on the street without the LCA brackets makes it hard. i hope that the brackets will calm that down and make it easy again, so i can really open her up.

i basically have to walk it out of first on the street and that takes up valuable time. at the track tho, it hooks well

the gears are going in on wednesday, i drop the car off to my tranny guy. gears are something i dont wanna mess with so he's gonna do it for me. cant wait to drive it again

Yeah you'll love those new gears

Walk it out of 1st on the street? What do you mean by that?

i mean, i can stall it up to nearly 2500rpms if i want to, but when i let out the brake, i have to slowly feed throttle in first gear or else the wheels will start to spin. i cant go full throttle till like 15mph or so, and that loses a good bit of time. thats walking it.

but it all depends on the type of road i am on, some roads around here grip good, some are smooth as glass and slippery as well, so traction gets limited

So what it allows you to do is to brake rev the engine to 2800 before the tires start to spin, then you can launch at 2800, as opposed to 1100~ for stock?
