I need help guessing the weight/ time of my car...
Ok, so for Christmas I got the Gtech Pro SS
One of the requirements is that I put in the cars weight, I dont have a track withing 2 hours of me so that is out of the options. Can someone please help me guess the weight of my car. There has been no weight reduction done, it is my daily driver. I have a 350 carbed motor with an elderbrock 650cmf carb. it also has a 84 T5 tranny, the rearend is a 3.73 posi from the same 84. It doesnt have an aluminum driveshaft... yet. It has a full interior and TTops. Please help.
I have played around with the Gtech a little bit on my block, since it isnt registered yet i dont want to chance a ticket (yes it is insured). I put the weight in as 3500lbs... that was a complete guess. I just learned to drive a standard about a week ago and havent had much time to practice yet. My best 60' was 2.5
and my best 0-40mph run was 3.4 Does this sound about right?
I was wondering if anyone could guess some of my other times such as 1/4 and 1/8 mile.
Thanks
Dennis

btw i think you know but if not your times are not effected by the weight you enter only thing that uses the weight for is tq and hp
and 2.5 is horrible 60 ft with posi my sunfire gt pulled a 2.3 you probally spun too much from just learning
no real way to guess your 1/8 and 1/4 mile you just said 350 with a 650cfm carb that doesnt help much can be anywhere from 14's to 16's

go weigh it. You'll never guess. Even if you go by the shipping weight on the door jamb the actual weight is different.

Ok, now I know where to set my expectations. The tires in the back are nearly brand new "Lemans SR" I didnt buy them, the person before me did. The reason I didnt go by the shipping weight on the door is because the car used to be a V6 auto, the person before me converted it to a V8 T5... so the weight i am assuming cant be correct...
Thanks for the help

Id have to figure 3550 with driver. Just go weigh it at a recycling center or something.
A good 60ft for street tires on a prepped track is 2.0. A good 60 for some real tires will be anywhere from 1.6-1.9 depending on what your entire setup is.

AND! dont forget that the gtech pro measures NET hp, so no crank HP or RWHP.
its only usuable for comparing
btw: i have the exact same version of gtech and i really love it! enjoy!
just concentrate on the 1/4 and 1/8 mile.

My '88 LB9 cut consistent 1.83's all season on street tires and bone stock suspension and full weight. That was before the T5 swap and the Billsteins/Eibachs. It had 2800 stall and 3.42's. It weighed 3600# with 1/2 tank of gas and my 100# stereo. Anything 1.80-1.99's is good for street tires, not the average, but good.
Also it's going to depend on how much power you make.

He has a manual also, i am not saying he cant drive it but most people just rev it and dump the clutch. With street tires you have to be realy luckey not to spin even with a good track prep. My old 20 sec POS import could easily spin from a 2k dump.
