This has been confusing me for a while now...By no means am I bragging but my LB9 is(was) unusually fast from what I've read around the boards compared to everyones L98's. This is no mw66nova ride

The motor had 170xxx on it and internally was completly stock. It ran great, I always kept up with it and keep the ignition system at its prime. Unmolested 081 casting heads that had leaking valve seals and the stock cam. I had K&N's on the stock TPI air intake setup with cheap CAI ducting this headed to a BBK 58mm TB. Headman shorties and their ypipe with a single 3" exhaust exited through a Ravin muffler. Interior was still in with a heavy stereo system and I have extremly heavy 17" chrome wheels with 245's on them.
It also has junk 3.08's.

Heres my best slip:
9.173 1/8th
81.08 mph
...2.38 60 ft!!!!

The 9.17 I thought was pretty fast but I'm trapping 81 mph and whats best is I ran this on a 2.38 60 ft!!!!!

Is this unusual for a LB9? This is about a 14.3 quarter rough guess.

that ET seems abit slower than expected with those mods but it makes sense cuz of that 60 foot.

but that trap speed is very high. 81 is moving man. my car used to go 8.80 at 80mph in the 1/8 in the cooler weather and its full exhaust L98 with 3.27's and 2800 stall.

i havent seen alot of times for 305's but that trap is definately quick

Yea, the trap shows I should be running 8.8-8.9 and the 60 ft proves it. Just doesn't make sense I'm running with most stockly L98's. The only thing I expected to get any HP out of is the exhuast work. The wheels, gears, and 170k on the clock don't help anything either.

I should have just kept this motor instead of this crap 383 and put N2O through it until it blew!

Yea I need to work on my launches a little Its a little more difficult to lauch a T-5 but an almost 2.4 60 ft blows!

The more I think about I now the more I wanted to try to hit 8's and 13's with the 305...wish I would have kept it.

hehe, yeah, i know exactly what you mean! after i figured out the block was broke on the 350, i got to do just that! i've reached all my previous goals for the lil' 305, blown them outta the water so much that i've had to come up with new goals!

the orginal goal for my 305 was a 13.75...it's been 12.50's and i want 11.9x's on motor and 10.9x's on n2o now!

11.9 all motor 305....!!!!!!! Defenitly some bragging rigths there. And a 10 second car no matter how you get there is too damn fast, especially for a sleeper!

Auto right? 3.08 open rear? That seems extremely fast.. i bet your motor is modded beyond what you believe it to be. That's what my stock 94 TA A4 ran in the 1/8th, and there's no comparison between an LB9 and an LT1.

Oh this could also be a sign... motors seem to run their best just before blowing up

I'd be willing to bet it's a glitch in the track timing maybe

both ET and mph though? normally it's one or the other when the timing system is off, not both.

the 9.17 isnt bad at all... actually i think it could be improved since the 60 foot was bad. but the trap is definately high

81mph 1/8 is like 101-102 mph 1/4 with TPI. i did 79-80.x's in the 1/8 in the fall, and did 100mph in the 1/4

The trap speed is abnormally high because of the really bad 60'. Get that car to hook up and you'll see the mph drop in line.
