Just ordered up a new converter

Just got off the phone with Andre at Edge Racing converters, sounds like the guy knows his stuff. If everything goes right, I'll have it next week in time for the track 4,000 stall flashing up to maybe around 4800 on nitrous with a 2.5 STR. Man I hope this thing gets me off the line better hehe. Going this weekend with the current setup and hopefully the following weekend with the new converter.

I bought one in the beginning of the year. I am happy with mine. Mine is a bit more conservative,(3400), but, its working well with my combination. Might even be ok with my new set up this winter. Andre is a good guy, IMO. Have you ever considered a trans brake?

Nah, no trans brake. This isn't an all out race car but it sure seems like it's slowly getting there Still have full interior but no A/C, heater or radio.

Thats funny. I think my car is slowly taking that route too. I have full interior, with A/C, but no P/S, (S-10 box), and no smog pump.

Youll like it alot better than the 3k stall you have now.I just saw you have 4.56 gears.Whats that thing go thru the traps at on the gas?.I was surprised I only gained like 2-300 rpm when spraying. But i just have 3.73s.Good luck!

Think it was about 7,000 and around 6,500 just on the motor crossing the line. Looks like it's going to be a really hot day on the 15th, calling for 105 degrees grr Probably cool off to mid 90's by the time I run.

hehe, mine's gotten to the point of almost an all out drag car even though it is still daily driven as much as possible. has no a/c, heater, vent, no PS, but it's got fully optioned doors (even mirrors) and full interior, to include the backseat and a boom tube subwoofer. once the power adder goes in, i think it'll be time to take it off of daily duty, which is fine, cause i'm picking up an 88 iroc that i'll be restoring for a daily driver...

hey, by the way (not to steal the thread or anything, i'm just super excited) have any of you guys seen the finished pics in the Auto Detailing and Appearance board? they are in the thread titled "sneak peak at the new look" on the third page.

How many runs do you usually get in? Where do you pay, at the one trailer before entering the pit area? I've only been down there once to watch a PCSA race so don't really know how things run there. Are the techs **** about everything? hehe

Matt, your car is looking good, for a sportcoupe lol humm you said it's going to get a whole lot faster, big shot of nitrous?

nope, it'll be a while in the making, but it's getting a single turbo. and i'm dead set on getting it too. i'm doing all the fab work and everything right now. unfortunately, i'm not at home right now so i can't be working on it right now, but i am making money to put towards the system. i'll be running a set of shorty headers and a y-pipe made by me. it's gonna be great!

That's one thing I'd like to try some day, a turbo motor but don't know the first thing of which turbo to pick out lol. Good luck with it Right now I'm saving for a car trailer, need to stop borrowing my friend's trailer all the time.

Roll bar comes after the trailer. Trailer is number one priority right now since my friend is going to be using it a lot more. Plus I hate asking for it all the time LOL. I can just keep running motor passes to stay legal then stick the bar in and get a jacket.

they make enourmous amounts of efficient power...i can't justify not going turbo! besides, evil's still running n2o, and a pretty big shot too! (210 i believe it was) so there are still guys out there with the n2o fix...

and i totally know what your sayin' with the old sayin's! i was talking with my buddy up here in Cayuga and he was sayin' how he wanted to go really fast on a 305 but once he blew it up he couldn't justify putting lots of money in custom pistons and whatnot, what he didn't know is that JE makes a set of forged blower pistons for the 305. so i'm all over them and i'll have this bad boy together with head studs, corteco gaskets, and about 15lbs. of boost! yeah buddy!

You get plenty of runs on a event night like tnt or grudge.
More than a wed night at least.
Not as many cars because of the price.
$35 is good, it's a nice track and prepped well on those nights.
Yes, you line up at the trailer and get out to pay. Not a big deal.
Techs are OK, read the homepage for min. qual.
I'm sure you'd be fine, bring a helmet, heh.

I'll let you know when it's in the car hehe. Going to start on it when I get home from work (7 hours from now). The converter looks nice, comes with it's own hardware, t-shirt, biz cards, pen and of course the oh so important sticker!

I don't have quite that much stall, but 3500 is still pretty loose compared to stock 1200-1600. It feels different at first, kind of soft when you give it throttle, but you get used to it pretty quick and don't notice it after awhile.

i'm running a 4000 on the street with no issues whatsoever. it's a bit different from a stock converter like five7 said, but it's really not bad at all. and the beauty of it all is that i have a 700r4 with lockup and once locked up on the highway, it's JUST like stock.

I have a 9.5" 4200 JW converter and I don't find it bad at all. Maybe I am used to it but I usually don't even notice that its there.

Got most of the work done on it when I got home this morning, should be able to finish it up tomorrow. Dang I hate that one middle bell housing bolt on the driver's side! Also with the new exhaust, I can't drop the trans straight down anymore Just had to lower the trans and scoot it back far enough to do the converter swap. Think this is the first time this one has been out since putting it in over 3 years ago.

I'll be the big guy with the white camaro w/black faded hood lol I'll have to keep an eye out for your car. Might be going tomorrow just to watch a guy my friend has been helping out. Runs low 11's in some stock class with an Lt1 camaro.

My car is nearly done, just have to add some trans fluid but it's still a bit early in the morning to fire it up. It's like x-mas morning all over again, can't wait.

Took it out for a quick spin, drives nearly the same when you're putting around. Once you step on the loud pedal, RPMs shoot up quickly. Don't forget, I'm used to having a looser than stock converter so it wasn't a big change.
