Ride height with trick front springs
ANyone running them? I'd like to see pics of ride height.
Esp. if it is a big block car.

i chopped 2 coils off them on my smallblock car. its almost too low for me though. if i could have done it again i may have done 1.5-1.75 coils. full height, they made my car look like a gasser.

I have trick springs on my SBC car. Without cutting the springs my car would look like a 4x4. I ended up cutting 2 1/2 coils off I think to get the current ride height, which is a little low but it looks good.

i just installed mine a couple of weeks ago. i gotta get some pics of the new flat hood on the car, so i'll take some pics. i heard everyone complaining about how high they were so i trimmed 1 coil off them before i even put them in the car. i'll have an iron headed BBC in the car in a few months, but alls i got right now is my aluminum headed sbc.

i'll do it with whatever you wanna fund! lol!
thanks for the support guys. i've gotta send the heads off for some real work and i'm putting more gear in it. i'd like to put a stock eliminator style camshaft in it but can't seem to find any specs on them...

Stock eliminator guys are ususally tight lipped when it comes to cam specs. You can go from the rules, and give you a place to start. I believe you have to run stock lift, but everything else is open.
Usually, they are big on duration with a real tight lobe seperation, from what I've seen. Not really the best thing for a driver though.
I'd try talking to comp, or one of the other big cam grinders.

that's the problem i'm running into, everyone implies stock lift and radical everything else but i can't even get a starting point! they normally require loose converters, steep gears and 1500rpm idles. it won't make a difference when i put the cam in, i'm looking for another DD right now.
if i can't get any help from someone for a camshaft with those types of specs, i'm gonna put a nitrous cam in and pill it to kill it! the nitrous cam i'm looking at is a comp nitrous grind:
224*/236* @ .050 .477"/.490" 113lsa
the cam i'm replacing is a comp 280h:
230*/230* @ .050 .480"/.480" 110lsa

youll want lots of compression running a stock elim. cam. they have somewhat square lobes, maybe in the 250 @.050 area with .500" lift on a 106 or something like that. (guessing) and they will want to spin 7,000-7500+.
the nitrous cam you picked out wont be worth much unless your talking about a 250+ shot. i would stick with what you already have before i did that.

not sure that nitrous cam will make that big a difference, but it sure would be an easier choice if it was a split duration already. I bet that split duration would make more power N/A than your cam does right now, although if it's not a 200-250+ shot you can get by without the nitrous grinds. FYI the typical difference between a nitrous cam and a non-nitrous cam with same durations is .1-.2 total but they make a big difference on the spray usually.

stock eliminator guys have to run stock compression, which is 9.5:1
thanks for the input on the small nitrous applications.

stock eliminator guys around here are running race gas, I always thought they could use higher compression...?

are you talking stock or super stock? i know they use some ridiculous ignition systems...
well think about it, why would they be using a ridiculous ignition system with 9.5:1 compression? stock ignitions would light that off just fine..... and most likely go faster with pump gas instead of race gas. lol
if thats what compression i had to run i would just stick a msd 6al in it or something like that to have a rev limiter.

This pic is with 1 coil cut from Moroso trick springs. You won't find the Stocker cams listed. They are special ordered pieces and as was stated earlier, not many will tell you what cam is in the motor especially if they are a faster qualifying car. It's not to be taken as anything other than most of us have a pile of time, money and effort in these cars and none are going to just tell you what they've done though most will give advice.

wow...don't think you can get any more efficient than that!!! 11.46 @ 113mph! yikes! what was your 60' on that pass? i'm having a set of 416's done up in a little while. i'm going to have the stock valves back cut, is there anything else you can suggest i do to them? i'm also going to go to a 3.73 for sure, and stick with my 26" tire, but if i can find a set for cheap, i'll definitly put a set of 4.10's together in another 10 bolt...actually, i've got an 8.5" that i'd love to build and put a torque arm mount on and whatnot...
