Re: really bad wheel hooping.
did you have anykind of posi before? if it was just a one legger before , and now it spins both. you just have the next problem to work on. are the shocks adjustable? change tire pressure?

Re: really bad wheel hooping.
Your Lower Control Arm bushings might be wore out. Get some new bushings or aftermarket LCA's.

That's your tires loading and unloading, good way to break stuff. Adjusting your weight transfer, shock rebound front and rear, tire pressure. Make the car swat in the rear so if you break something it's the weak link not the result of hammering on it. Also make sure the pinion angle is not jumping around that will add to the issues.

Does the car go straight or to one side if you start out straight ?

Re: really bad wheel hooping.
The problem is your getting more traction now than you were before, and the extra force is causing the wheel hop. What you need to do is lower the mounting point of the Lower Control Arms on the rear axle with some relocation brackets. Some good Lower Control Arms with good bushings would also help.

fyi: those lockers suck...they don't like to have ANY kind of abuse put to them:

All this time I though wheels & tires were hoops. . .
Wheel hop is the suspension springing back on the axle and tires. Stamped u-section control arms + rubber bushings = recipe for wheel hop. If you haven't boxed your lower control arms and installed poly bushings, or installed aftermarket tubular LCAs with poly bushings, now's the time.

ok, i'm thinking you might put the old shocks back in. i'm running monroe replacements, but they're like 6 years old and have like 50K plus on them. just try that to see if that helps. otherwise, maybe the bushings are wore out? do you still have the rubber trans mount? how bout the torque arm mount?

Re: really bad wheel hooping.
it sounds like some worn bushings. but those lockers will do wierd things too, cause they don't lock until power is applied.
