Wait for Nate. . .
Pinks All Out filmed at Bandimere Speedway this weekend. Quite a circus, but well run. 460-some cars showed up, plus some "exhibition" cars (jet cars, pro mods, Jr. comp, etc.). The place was crawling with spectators, like the Mile High Nationals sans nitro.
Two time trials Friday on a .4 pro tree with time slips. One Saturday again on pro tree w/time slip, then another on Rich's arm drop and no times (do the math - that's a couple of hundred arm drops - try it yourself and see how far you get). About half an hour after the last pair went down the track, they announced they were going to do a 32-car field ("It's just too good to pass up," they said).
About half an hour later, they announced the cars - 16 numbers were called off, told them to go to Lane 1. Then they called off 16 more, told them to line up in Lane 3. Lane 1 were the "first picks", Lane 3 the next 16 slower cars. The "fast" cars would have to "defend" their way into the "real" 16.
I could tell you more, but you'll see it when it airs October 9th. Shall we say, it's an opportunity for thirdgen.org members to see a little of a certain mod. . .
Or, if you don't mind spoilers. . .
(Hint: That certain TGO mod won't have to clean out the garage to find a place for a big new tool box.)

Perhaps they'll air an interview clip on the tax topic.
(Spoiler warning - Another hint coming: Garage not clean.)

15:1 with the cars that showed up and field they picked.
Forgot to mention, at least 12.99 sec (at 5800' elevation) required to be considered.
Something I didn't realize before was the arm drop time trial "counted" - if you left early, you were out. Bit a buddy of mine, a good racer, and about a dozen others.

I was just going through the messages on our answering machine, deleting all the "vote for me" messages (our primary is tomorrow), and came across the one I left after I was picked; hardly recognized my own voice, no wonder nobody answered!!!!
