rim backspace

I have a moser 9" stock lenght. Im getting 15x10 rim with 295 radial tire. What backspacing would I need to use to have the tires tuck inside the fender? Thanks, Ronnie

Re: rim backspace

not on a 15x10 wheel. the 5.5" backspacing will get it right at or slightly under the fender lip, most people are going to a 6.5" backspacing and it tucks the tires nicely, but inner fender modifications are needed (hehe, get out the BFH!)

Re: rim backspace

I second the 5.5" with a 10" rim. I ran 29.5 x 10.5 slicks on them and they tucked under the fenders nicely however the tire height required some inner fender modifications. A shorter, more common 26" tall tire doesn't have those issues.

Re: rim backspace

Also if you go the 15x10 with 6.5 BS to tuck them more there will be modifications to the inner fenders as stated but some people are saying you need offset lower control arms as well. Im not sure if it is a must or not but I believe so.

i think that really depends on tire size...i believe radialtireking is running a 295/65/15 on a 15x10 with 6.5" backspacing with minimal work and regular tubular lca's...xpndbl3 is also running the same backspacing with regular style lca's as well...

Re: rim backspace

6.5 back spacing and I found my air hammer to work the best at reshaping the inner wheel well you will also need tubular lower controll arms.

no I have rod ended everything in my suspension all chro moly tubular with offset bushings on the LCAs. For the size tire I'm running I definitely needed the offset.

Re: rim backspace

15x10 with 6.5" backspacing will be fine with a 295, 10" wheel with 5.5 looks disgusting . Get the hammer.

whoops...i'm a dumbass! lol....

to the OP: make sure you listen to these guys...i'm running a small tire on a 15x10 with 6.5" backspacing (just a 275/60) so i got away with alot less problems than the guys running the 12" wide tires.

Re: rim backspace

on a 10" wide wheel, 6" of backspacing will locate the tire approximately where a stock 15 wheel does, 6.5" will put it a 1/2" further in, 5.5" will put it a 1/2" further out. The problem is finding a 6" backspacing.
