Some nitrous results...
Was a wonderful day yesterday... 60*F temps and the track had opened for its 2nd T&T of the year. Took the hour long drive to Atco... Track prep was non-existent as pretty much every car was having trouble getting down the track. I got there and made a motor pass to make sure the car was a-ok. It spun a little but still ran a "usual" of 11.60 @ 118 with a 1.65 60'. I backed off the timing (I didn't even use a light so I dunno how far for sure...) and heated up the bottle to a cozy 950psi. On a "75 shot" spraying out of the hole it went 10.91 @ 125mph with a 1.69 60ft. Needless to say it spun badly the entire 60' but I never took my foot off the throttle.
This is still with the bone stock suspension and single 3" catback. I made 3 other passes but they were all 11.0's @ 124. I don't have a bar or any other required safety equipment (trust me, I know I'm a moron) and surprisingly Atco did not kick me out. As soon as my income tax gets here I'll be ordering a few suspension pieces... I think there is a 10.60 in the car with a better 60'... I also think with bigger exhaust it'll drop at least a few tenths on motor and spray.
2009 is looking good already. Car runs awesome, doesn't leak anything, doesn't break (knock on wood), and you can drive it anywhere. I'm still amazed how well this motor is working out for me.

Man, I was gonna go. We could lined up for a good race. They never bothered me about a roll cage either.

Here's a picture of my last run of the day yesterday. I think this is as close to a wheelie factory suspension can get. Car squats, kicks a tire up, and then starts spinning. Turned out to be only a 1.69 60ft...

Definetly looks good though. How do you get those pictures? Whens the next time you're going? I'm trying to get there soon.
My car wouldn't 60ft there for crap either. I could only muster a 1.80 on a 11.30 run.

I don't think I'm going back any time soon. It's getting quite expensive to run this car at the track... Bottle fill, gas, and entry fee all add up to over $120
Right now I think Atco is only open on Sundays when the weather is decent. I'll probably go back when it gets warmer and they start opening up regularly. I like going on tuesday nights, the prep is usually good then.
I just hope this thing stays together because if it breaks it'll sit for years. There is a ton of ET on the table... Some people laugh when I say this but I think with suspension, exhaust, (much) bigger shot, and maybe some actual tuning the car could creep into the 9.90's

Something seems abit off with that 75 shot

Re: Some nitrous results...
You're probably right... I was basing the HP level off one of those nitrous jet calculators. I have a .041 nitrous jet which according to said calculators should only produce about 65rwhp. I just noticed NX's 100HP settings on my plate call for a .041 jet. Weird that NX claims 100rwhp increase through that size jet... makes me wonder if NX's jets are bigger than they claim just so they look like their kits make more power.
Still, 7 tenths and 8mph with a safe tune and a small shot is pretty good. The motor, converter, and gear are matched up with a 200 shot in mind so it's "setup for spray" as they say and should pick up very well on the bottle.

X2 a 125Hp shot should get you 5-6 MPH in the 1/4 Thumbs up for that kinda gain on a .041 Pill !!

Which NX kit do you have? Does it have the new lightning solenoids?

No, it's just an old Hitman kit.
Anyone have suggestions for what to start off with suspension wise? Where are the biggest improvements seen? I'm thinking to start off with LCA's and Relocation brackets to see where that gets me. I'm too poor to afford a torque arm and all that good stuff right now.

On a side note, I just painfully forked over $187.67 to Spohn for some tubular non-adjustable LCA's, relocation brackets, and new hardware. Guess I can't blab about having "bone stock suspension" anymore... It's been real fun testing the limits of it though.

i was the same way. i switched to cheapie edelbrock boxed non asdjustables, but they work great! i run stock springs on all corners, but new drag struts/shocks all around with LCA's.
in my opinion, they had a terrific factory suspension. let me know if you go on the 27th, as ill hopefully be there.

LCA's and Relo's will get those times down.
