Mounting NOS bottle?
Just wondering where you guys are mounting your nitorus bottles in the F-body. I don't have the bottle in my possesion yet but I'm thinking it will either go into the rear cargo area or between the two back seats.
I would really like to see pictures of these two spots if anyone has them. My biggest concern is if I should buy the short line in case i'm gonna mount in the back seat area.

Re: Mounting NOS bottle?
i do not have nitrous in my car, and i'm not sure that i ever will, but if i were, there'd be two major things dictating my mounting spot.
1. easy to work on. putting it in the back seat area with a roll bar makes it difficult to put it in and out of the car. if you're a heavy nitrous hitter and go to a weekend long race and are any kind of successful, between the seats and under a bar will bet old quick. this leaves two mounting areas: in the rear hump, or the passenger seat area.
2. i want to be able to have complete control of the valve when i'm in the car, after the burnout, before i stage. i do not trust electrical solenoids very much as i've had pretty bad luck with that type of stuff, so i wouldn't trust an automatic opener. with these two requirements, this only leaves one place:
either in front of the passenger seat, or take the seat out for race day and put it in place of the seat.

Re: Mounting NOS bottle?
I think the auto bottle opener is more for a street application. How hard is it to open the bottle valve when you're in the staging lanes?
I like the dbl bottles sitting on the passenger seat, thats cool. I agree it has to be easy to gain access to changing it in & out.
I have an Aerospace billet bottle bracket that doesnt want to let go of the bottle when I loosen it up, so I'll replace it when I finally get fed up with it.
To answer the question, mine is above where the factory location of the fuel tank.

Re: Mounting NOS bottle?
mine is mounted on the passenger back seat hump area basically. I already cut out all the metal there for my full size mufflers so it just bolts to the top of the metal box I made. Easy to turn around and open/close the valve and bottle changes aren't that bad once you move the passenger seat forward and toss it in around the roll bar.
Re: Mounting NOS bottle?
for note, as most racers this guy likely leaves the bottle valves fully open and turns the system on/off via the 1/4turn ball valves you see mounted behind the aluminum pan w/ the psi gauge. - That's how I run mine, except I "Y" the lines ahead of a single ball valve.
I don't have any current pics with the twin bottles or with all the plumbing, but you can see where mine sit in this pic:
