Came down hard
Came down hard
Think this fuel pressure safety switch is doin me in, have had problems with this before and after moving the fpss from after the regulator to before it seems to still be giving me issues. Just lost power at the top of the wheel stand and that was pretty much all she wrote. Need to look at the front suspension too since it bump steers pretty bad (you can see it in the video if you look closely enough). Long story short, cracked a motor mount mounting location on the block and bent the motor mount pretty good. The good news is I think that's all the damage that was done and some motor plates will pretty much remedy the current situation. Pics later, video now

Re: Came down hard
Ouch. I'm sure if something happened when my front end was in the air, I'd also cause damage.
Wheelie bars are a safety device. If they're set so low that the front end doesn't rise at all, they'll probably slow you down unless you have a full tube chassis car with a really good chassis setup. If they're set 4-6" off the ground, you'll still pull the wheels and if you lose power like you did, the front end will still come crashing down. The wheelie bars will just prevent you from going up on the bumper.
I'm sure if I did the same thing, I'd be really considering wheelie bars too.

Can't view vids from work, but the pic says it all.
Sucks to happen, but at least you have some footage of it for some LOLs after all is said an done. I got greedy doing a "grudge" run with a friend a while back and took the bumper off the back of the car.....didn't drop it though, so no major damage, but no pics or video to take the sting off of it.

Ouch. What about some "oh ****" bars for under the car? Was it madman who was making those? They were tubular steel bars that provided a crush cushion for hard landings like yours. Header savers... Haha
Re: Came down hard
nope, they sit up higher than the hookers did, oil pans fine too believe it or not, even tho it sits about a 1/2" lower than the k member. Donno how that works but i'll take it

Re: Came down hard
It's amazing the number of people who will come up to you in the pits after you put it on the bumper. - I'd been posting solid times all evening w/o anyone noticing, knocked the bumper off on the line and took it out past 400' on the rears and instantly became a celebrity.
I didn't even get any pics/vids to take the sting off the newly required body work.

Re: Came down hard
yep even with it not shutting off you need to bring it in a little slower, or get that suspension under control, its all hook!
