What class will I be in? Scca autocross

The 20th will be my first time autox my 92 z28 in a scca autox event. I've raced it in some local porche club events but they are pretty laid back and do not put you in classes. I'm more about just having fun than getting too competitive but I do attend mos of the events in my area. My car is a stock lb9 auto 2.73 posi car only mods are 3in magnaflow high flow cat and 3in catback trimmed moog springs 1 coil in the front and 1 3/4 rear founders tubular adjustable poly/rod lcas and Panhard rod and lcarbs. Racetronix fuel pump/harness kit. I'm just on some doral 245/50/16 tires. In the process of trying to pickup an extra set of wheel and some good autox only tires. Really trying to figure out which class I should be in? I per registered for stx but unsure if that's where I should be. He car will get sfc strut bar and wonderbar still this season.

Ok cool that's also what I was thinking but wasn't sure it's been a Lon time since I've ran a scca event last one I did in my own car was a stock 98 Camaro 3.8 y87 car I dominated the gs class with it lol. Last event I went too a month ago I drove a sts miata that was a TON of fun. I know until I get some tires I will not be too competitive but I'more worried about building the car how I want for everyday use over staying in a specific class.

I think the rear LCAs would put you in ESP, not legal for STX. ESP would probably be more fun anyway since it's mostly other pony cars.

I know this is an old thread but I was wondering if you ever raced and figured out what class you would be in? I would like to get into auto cross as well and I have founders poly/rod end lca's and LCARBs and from what I am reading in the rules for ESP that is not allowed?

Has anyone raced their third gen in SCCA CAM class? If so how did you compare against the other cars?

The rules are so open in CAM that you have to put a stupid amount of work in to be competitive nationally.

That being said, most regional guys just go to CAM because they don't know what class to go into and their buddies are running in CAM so it doesn't really matter. Just jump in CAM till you figure out what your car would be classed as and would be competitive in that class.

This is definitely the case. If you only plan on running locally, enter the car in CAM and have fun. If you want to win nationally, think like an engineer and find a car / class combination that can be exploited for a win. CAM will, most likely, not be that class with a thirdgen.
