NFRA 2002

Just a brief update regarding NFRA for 2002. We are still working on nailing down the date and location, and expect to have this finalized by the end of next week. We are attempting to hold a two-day event this time.

In the meantime, I want to wet your beaks by giving you a sneak preview of things to come. As you will see, things are changing drastically for 2002. The proposed classes are as follows:

1. Brackets
2. Street Stock: N/A, Drag radials, 3550#
3. Modified Street: N/A, DOT, 3400#
4. Street Eliminator: Power adder, DOT, 3400#
5. Wild Street: 10.5 3200#, nearly anything goes
6. A Surprise!

Stay tuned...

AS usual NO FAIR class for TTA's.

1. Brackets
2. Street Stock: N/A, Drag radials, 3550#

WHY IS STREET STOCK, a N/A class???????
Put TTA's here and give them a 100# weight penalty???

3. Modified Street: N/A, DOT, 3400#

OR HERE????

4. Street Eliminator: Power adder, DOT, 3400#
5. Wild Street: 10.5 3200#, nearly anything goes
6. A Surprise!

Hmph. Interesting. What mods would you propose we allow on the TTA's?

You mean as in limit the amount of boost??

Thats really been done by limiting them to the stock turbo, which can produce boost over 20# but it very ineffiecinet<sp>

On a true radial that would greatly even the playing field since the 3.8 is really a TQ motor.

I am definitely not adverse to letting TTA's into Street Stock. I would want some sort of commitment that some will show, however.

As for V8 third-gens, I have gotten extremely creative in trying to level the playing field to give you guys a shot at really competing. Keep an eye on www.NFRAracing.com, I will post a rough draft of the S/S rules in a few days time and open it up to constructive discussion.

Thanks,
Chris Endres
