Hand Held Radios

Hey guys, I went and picked up a hand held radio, like the Motarola Talk-Abouts.
Me and Jesse (I think) are getting the same ones, but I wanted to say if anyone is gonna caravan and wants to pick up one just make sure of one thing, get the cheap ones w/o the privacy stuff.
Just trying to make sure if anyone else decided to get them they would all talk.
Later,
RS

Kinda.... they are pretty small, but 21 bucks at Target. If anyone wants me or Jesse can pick one up for you. In total w/ batteries it is like 29 bucks total.
But, thats me and Jesse at least being about to talk as we drive.

I'll hit Walmart and see if they have them. If they do, chalk another one up for ample cruising communications.

Is it like the Motorola Talk About or is it that exact model? Just want to make sure I get one that will work with you's.

They are like the Motorola Talk-Abouts. Basically what you need to look for so we can make sure they are 100% compatible is 14 channels and have FRS written on them, which is Family Radio System. You do not want the ones that say 14 channels and 38 codes. It is the cheap ones that don't have those 38 codes. Basically, buy the cheapest ones you can and it will probably work. If you can't find them w/ batteries for less then 28 bucks total we can get you one, or stop by Target. Even Costco didn't have them cheaper then Targets.

Well, I know this post has been up for a while, but i have a friend who sell motorcycle equipment. I got a set of chatter box brand for 100 bucks. 14 channels and 38 sub's. Let me know how many are intrested and i'll see what kind of prices you can get for a group purchase.

Actually, everyone that was at the last gathering now already has a set... and they aren't probably won't work with the ones you are talking about thanks to those 38 sub channels.....
Me, Summer, and Jesse all have the exact same radios, Rosh and Death have a matching set also that we know work with the ones we have.

A good friend of mine does have the 14 channel radios and mine do work with his, you just have to set it for the same channels and make sure you set your sub channel for ZERO. Anyother sub channel and they will not work.
