*Next Gathering Ideas In Here*

OK, I posted this on 3rdgen too, but, since some of us dont go there.. or cant *cough* Doug *cough* I figured we could toss out some ideas now!

I think someone mentioned late july/early August? I was thinking late June for a few reasons. As far as weather, it should be pretty nice, the weather down here is pretty nice all summer.

I checked the drag strips schedule is kinda short for days the street legals (people off the street) can race. We got May 4th (which Im for sure going to) June 29th (which is why I think Late June would be great) The strip opens at 5:30, and elimanations dont start until 8:00, so we can get tons of passes in. We could sorta do a cruise around before the drags, get something to eat, and get our cars tuned and ready to run. Prices for racing is 10 bucks, which I think is pretty decent.

As far as camping is concerned, if we get the right spot, it would not only be FREE but, it would be away from cops and crap. Being as how it would be late june, the rivers would be warm enough to swim in. The ocean would be nice enough to go to, and walk around on or whatever. I could MAYBE even swing something at the Golf course I work at. Keep in mind the course isnt open to the public and according to some golf magazines, it supposed to be better than Pebble beach, so it would be a once in a lifetime chance. If I couldnt pull that off, we could go to the driving range, and smack some ***** around Theres tons of other stuff to do here, but, Im kinda burned out and my mind isnt working perfect. Thats MY idea for the next gathering. I think getting about 10 3rdgens at the strip would be bad *** considering all that run there are some 2nd gens, LOTS of rice, and some other junk.

So, whatcha guys think!?!

I don't know when, but I vote for Sea Side, Oregon as the location. But, I'm just biased because my folks have a house on Cannon Beach that I could stay at for free!!!

I would love to be able to go. Consequently, i am working full time and in school full time untill the end of august. Then i have to fly to san-francisco to take an 800$ test. If I fail, i gotta pony up the cash for the test again! So needless to say, go ahead and plan for it and i will just hope i can make it! If not, I will have to make the next one! I'm in the middle of a carrier change and the wife and i usually go mountain biking at Whistler in late august-early september. I really hope i can make it with U guyz!

I think Whistler would make for a fun gatehring...but noone would have the $$$ to stay there.

My big suggestion is just somewhere with a track.

You would be supprised how cheap it is to stay there! I think we have paid 150 Canadan for a huge cabbin. We usually go with a group of 25 people. And this year we are taking our new minivan instead of the Z28. Anyhow, its too long of a drive for a gathering but a great place to ski or mountain bike! If you want to take your family and/or a group of friends, i think the number is 1-800-Whistler.

I can't make it do that last drag date you mentioned... but I will be down there like July 3rd or so for the 4th. Maybe we can find some CA track we can stop at on our way to LV

Yeah, southern Oregon. About 80 miles from the California border, right on the coast. I dunno, anyone else have ideas? I like the seaside idea, but, I would really like to include something like drag strip runs, or something.

Not yet, soon enough I will. Its sweet, I think it was worth the money.

Qwktrip, Its coos bay international raceway, its just 1/8 mile, but its a great track, awesome people, and cheap. Id LOVE to see that car of yours. Looks like the fastest 3rdgen thats gonna be their will either be me, or my buddies 83 Z28. If you want, I can put up the strips web address and stuff too...

It was $160 from www.Jegs.com. Here is a pic of it for ya. I noticed a huge difference as soon as I put it on. Installation wasnt to hard, as long as drilling holes in your car doesnt worry ya to much!
