Break Down!!!!
Thought I'd share my pain with everyone. It was gonna happen sooner or later. The RS has about 120,000 miles on it & I've never really had any serious problems with it. Well, the good news is, I got the suspension done & was taking it out for a test drive today. Bad news.......It died on me!!!!!! Luckily I died right around my house so I was able to call my younger brother to come & get me. I got stuck in the middle of the road & while waiting for my brother to come, some good hearted Mormons came to my aid. They helped me push the car out of the road & onto the side, out of the way. So I would just like to extend my thanks out to them! Got my brother to get my truck & pull me home. I'll update tomorrow on the diagnosis of the car. I hope it's not the fuel pump! I didn't want to mess with anything today after getting home. Just decided to let the car rest & tackle the problem tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Ouch sounds painful, I hope you get the RS back up and running soon, and yes, let's hope its something minor, and not the fuel pump.

Goodness. I've only got 18,000 to go before I get to where your at. Hope my engine lasts until I rebuild it. I always thought the LO3 was built for reliability, though. Let us know, and if it is the motor, sounds like a really good excuse for a rebuild/swap!

Handles like a dream Scott!! Got some sliding action going with the wet roads & just started having some fun then......Brrrrr..........DEAD! lol! I'm leaning toward an ignition problem. Either some burnt wires caused by the headers causing an amazing arc light show, or a failing ignition module. Got it running today, missing like a mother, & rich as hell. So I know fuel isn't the problem. Gonna check it out tomorrow, got too many things to do today. But yeah, it handles awesome

Quick update. It wasn't the ignition module. Gonna go check the condition of the wires & plugs today.

P.S. my flux capacitor is brand new along with Mr. Fusion
I'm starting to take this problem as a sign for me to swap in a long overdue new motor I've been trying to put together.

Yeah I have pressure. I think it was around 10 to 15. Would a dying fuel pump cause a stumbling, missing, & smoking exhaust at idle???

Mr. Fusion... hahah.
I don't think a dying pump would cause those problems unless it's pushing a grossly wrong pressure. I didn't see the part of your previous post about running rich and all. What is the normal range for TBI? Around 1.5 ~ 2x carbs?
What color is the smoke? You said your ignition all checked out good, right? Have you checked for vacuum leaks?
I'm probably going to have all kinds of problems with my truck once I finally get around to putting it back together. I've been spending my nights after work taking things apart and cleaning them. But I'm getting really lazy about labeling everything, so there will be lots of trial and error troubleshooting to do....

Gonna change out my O2 sensor later on today. Found out that I'm throwing a code 44. Lean exhaust indication. I'm suspecting that my O2 sensor has gone bad. In theory I believe that the ECM would add more fuel from the bad sensor thinking that its lean.......Or so I hope! It would explain the rich smell of gas that I'm getting & the smoking exhaust while I have the car sort of running. Oh well, wish me luck!

Well, I think I might of found the problem. To make a long story short, I found out that 2 of my spark plugs were only finger tight & one was actually spinning freely! I think I might have compression lost in those 2 cylinders & thus causing me to not fire correctly......I hope! Go check out my other thread for more details

The car is running!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wanted to let you guys know that I got the car running today. Turned out to be a leaky injector. I had my suspicions on that when I noticed that one injector was spraying out fuel when you just turn the key to on. (fuel pump energizes for a few seconds, & the leaky injector squirts it right out) So that would explain why I was running sooooo rich when I did get it started. I would just like to say thanks again to Shawn for the spare Throttle Body with the injectors. I couldn't of done it without you man!
And just to add, never underestimate your g/f or wife when she says what the problem is with the car. My wife kept telling me that it was a fuel problem & I kept ignoring her & said it was something else. And look what happens, it turns out to be a fuel problem
You gotta love how that turned out

Your suspicions on a 350 are right. I just wanted to get the car running so I could fix the scratches on the driver side door & get my ghost flames done
I have some vortec heads that I scored for really cheap & am gonna get the machine work done on them soon. I'm getting a short block from Scoggin Dickey Parts Center soon. They have the best rates on shipping that I've found. Valve train is gonna be all Comp Cams stuff.(Getting it through a friend) Laterz.

Bad news again. This happened a little after I got the RS running but I just never posted my pain yet. The car is running all messed up again. It's actually kinda strange & I'm stumped right now. I start the car up & it fires right up & idles fine for about 20-30 seconds. Then right after that it starts to have like a popping sound, almost like light backfires. Just moving the car in & out of the driveway it does that popping sound even more & it sounds of backfire more too. I'm not pulling any codes also so I'm not sure what the problem could be. Anyone have thoughts on this. Clogged fuel filter? Sensor failures even without pulling codes? Spark plug wires arcing?(but wouldn't it idle funny from the beginning right after fireup?) Timing off? Hope I solve this soon.
Or maybe that carbed 350 might find a new home in the engine bay sooner than I thought lol!

I thought about it after you told me. My guess would be something fuel related since thats where the last problem was. But might also want to check the connection on all the plugs, or maybe even pull the plugs to check em out. How old are the wires? The weird thing is that it only happens after the car warms up ...

Yeah, I'm still leaning toward a fuel related problem. It's the little problems like these that really irritate me though. Oh well, since this isn't a top priority for me right now, I'll let you guys know how things go when I get to it
