Twin Eatons - intercoolers mounted

While waiting for the second Eaton and materials to arrive to mount it, I have been busy getting the intercoolers and ducting built. I lowered the radiator 1.5 inches and layed it back 2 inches. The blow off valve mounts to the underside of the duct to the TB. Need to make up a new piece to cap off the top of the radiator to the core support. No biggie. more pics to follow. cheers, Bob

very very nice,

looks like I might have to break out my welder!

This should be a nice project. I think 1 eaton would have sufficed on your 305. There is a company called allen superchargers that uses M90's on all of there kits. (crown vic, cobra,GT, F-150 etc)

I'm not complaining about using 2 though, should be REAL quick if it turns out like www.toohighpsi.com

The 305 is just the mule... I have a 88 350 roller short block waiting to be stroked and built. Heres a side shot of the engine at present.

Curious,

The stock M90's have a vaccuum actuated valve on the side, are you using this? What is it for?

What regulates how much boost is comeing to the motor at a idle or cruse?

The early M90's (89-92?) don't have the intergral blow off valves. The later models do. I'm using a 1g DSM blow off valve between the intercoolers and TB. cheers, Bob

Correct me if I'm wrong please, my SC vocab is a little weak.

I thought all blowers needed a wastegate more than anthing else. What I mean by this is something to cycle pressure off the intake side of the motor when high vaccum, cruise/idle

If your at an idle for instance, what keeps boost from climbing up?

Late 90's Ford Autumn Orange off the Explorers. Basecoat/clearcoat. I sanded the intake and runners for shine, cleaned and painted. Didn't use any primer to let the aluminum shine thru, the basecoat is translusent.

I'm adding a blow off valve between the blowers and the tb. under vacuum it will bleed off the boost. Since I'm running a 749 (speed density) this loss of air won't matter. cheers, Bob

Very cool on the paint. How is it holding up in the engine bay? I've long considered doing something similar but haven't gotten off my butt to do it. I was almost thinking that you somehow managed to annodize the whole thing (you'd need a big tank and power supply to do that)

Holdiing up fine (Sikkens Ureathane). Have a few scratches from tools I need to touch up, but other than that no problems.
